Dosa Grill in North Brunswick used to be our place to have good dosas. Ever since they opened a branch in East Windsor I go there as its closer

Couple of times in last few years I have gone to Dosa Grill in North Brunswick but felt their quality and service had gone down. Last week I went to it again mainly as it was a central point to meet friends. We whereabouts 10 of us

We mainly ordered Dosas, Uttapams and Masala oddly plus some desserts and madras coffee. I had ordered the Masala Iddly and the Pesaratu with uppuma. Before I ordered teh pesaratu I specifically asked the server that this was a "true" pesaratu made with moong dal and not ones that many S indian places pass as Pesaratu but its mostly rice flour and sprinklings of moong dal flour. He assured me that it was 100% moong dal. Well when it came it was mostly rice flour with minimal moong dal. I complained to teh server but he said its 100% moong dal and said would mention to chef. He never apologized or offered a refund or anything like that; personally I don't think he cared as to him it was just a job! Very disappointing. The up puma and masala Iddly was OK Most of my other friends who ordered dosas and uttapam also said the quality has gone down. The desserts (Payasaam, Badam Halwa with Ice cream nd Rasmali were nothing spectacular.

Service was just OK. Not friendly nor courteous. Plus no apologies for promising me 100% moong dal and when I complained it wasn't no real action taken to resolve that

Personally, I don't think I would visit this place again . What a fall from grace when they used to be so good! There are so many other South Indian restaurants around and it amazes me that sub-quality food and service places still survive and/or restaurants are not doing enough to improve...

The place is clean and very well lit and hygenic. Enjoyed a great thali meal in good ambience. Items include, Pulao or Biryani, Rice, Appalam, Rasam, sambar, kurma, yoghurt, pickle and some north Indian items such as rotis and a paneer gravy item, gajar ka halva as desert..

However, Some desirable south items such as, poriyal, Vatha Kozhambu or Kara Kozhambu, south Indian style darker spinach varieties, ( not palak), Gongura, carrot or cucumber daal kosambari, onion or cucumber raitha are recommended to the chef to rotate as items in future variations.

In this edition of the Thali, one can taste of both south and north indian flavors. An option to choose a very traditional south Indian thali should be added to the menu.

Quality and Quantity are both beyond any complaints. Service is very attentive and fast. A complimentary coffee or tea is included as a part of the meal.

The rotis are the softest, tastiest. One can eat it just by itself. If if you're still have space in your belly, i recommend ordering a Chilly Naan as an additional add on, wipe clean the extra paneer gravy. Yummy.

Hmm..How about a space to nap after a such a wonderful and heavy meal. Lol

Now this is a general appeal to all Indian restauranteurs. Please cut down on Aloo. If at all,use the red skin or white allo as they don't pop up as slightly sweet version of the normal potato. Don't use russet or other...

I recently had the pleasure of hiring Dosa Grill for a catering service, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From start to finish, their chef and assistant had such a pleasant demeanor that included the right blend of friendly warmth and professionalism.

What truly amazed me was the logistical obstacles that the crew had to overcome, which they did with sheer effort, determination, and a "can do" attitude. These obstacles included carrying an incredibly heavy stove up 3 flights of stairs and on to a patio. Despite being in an environment very much out of their comfort zone, they still executed flawlessly.

And the dosas themselves were absolutely delicious. The variety offered was fantastic, and it was exciting to eat each one. But that's not all - the vegetable briyani, vada, idli, sambar, gulab jamuns, chutney, AND masala chai were all included in the unbeatable price.

Overall, the quality, taste, execution, and service of Dosa Grill is truly unbeatable. If you're looking for a fantastic dosa party, look no further than Dosa Grill. I highly recommend them for any event,...

I've been here only once and tried only their Wednesday Dosa buffet, but I can already vouch this to be one of the best authentic South Indian vegetarian restaurant and Dosa place in the Garden state. They have a display of awards they have won and that’s certainly a testimony to what they offer. We went here just by the reviews and was surprised how a modest looking place can pack a punch with its taste and pleasant customer service. The food was out of the world and tasted just how it would if you are to walk into a South Indian restaurant, back in India. We got here on a Wednesday night to try the dosa buffet and had no disappointments. They charge $19.99 per person for unlimited food, which is nominal. The dosas variety is a lot and the other various foods served in the counters are delicious too. They keep refilling them and don’t let you wait. The only pickle point is that they didn’t have pickles to side the curd rice (which’s a must in South Indian type of eating) ;) We can’t wait to try this place on other days and their other delicacies. Dosa Grill, you found yourself, new patrons in us!

Visited this amazing spot close to home, thanks to my brother's recommendation for their Wednesday Dosa buffet! The buffet runs from 5:45 PM to 9:30 PM, and we arrived around 8:30. We kicked off with idly, wada, and a variety of chutneys and sambhar. Then came naan with paneer butter masala, uthapam, and samosas, which were all fantastic. They also offered two types of rice, rasam, chaat, and desserts like mango lassi, gulab jamun, and ice cream. For dosa, you place an order separately—we tried the butter Mysore masala dosa, paneer masala dosa, and Madurai masala dosa, all of which were delicious. The buffet is priced at around $22 per person, and it's totally worth it. While the variety of items isn't vast, the quality more than makes up for it. The dining space was comfortable, and the service was very professional. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy some great vegetarian food, especially vegetarians! They also have a regular veg menu on other days. Sharing a few pictures I captured from this visit!
