A decent, well-balanced pizza, with a good crust, good ratio of crisp to chewy, and a nice, robust sauce to round out the mix. Nothing outstanding, but a solid pizza in the mold of what I like to term "New Jersey Strip Mall Pizza". This is as opposed to a coal-fired NY pie, a Jersey tomato pie, etc. it's a good local choice, not the best, but certainly not the worst.
Delivery was fast and friendly, and bonus points awarded for actually getting the order correct - a skill many local places seem to struggle with.
Is this a gourmet pie from an 1100-degree coal-fired oven representing the highest apex of the pizza-maker's craft? No, but it's certainly a solid average, and not even in the same league as the chain "pizza" many consume.

What a joke of a pizza place! I ordered over the phone for pickup, they took my order and told me to be there in 20 minutes. So, I go there and no one knows where my order is or who even took my order. Actually, they tried to convince me that I called a different place so I dial my last number and guess what...their phone rings. They give me no apology and they ask me if I want to wait another 20 minutes for a pizza and I tell them that I can’t obviously. And the cook tells me that word for word “You want to stay...stay, you want to go...go!”. So, I head for the door and he continues with an ironic tone “Thank you for coming! Sal's pizza is by far my preferred Italian spot in the area. When the food arrives, it is always hot, always delicious, always on time. I order delivery from Sals at least twice a month. We ordered delivery last night, two chicken and pasta meals: chicken franchise and chicken with penne vodka. The chicken penne vodka entree we ordered did not have the chicken in it. We called up and explained, and they stated another meal would be coming our way. It arrived within 20 minutes. The penne vodka from here is my absolute favorite.
