Royal Orchid — Restaurant in North Brunswick Township

Based on the good reviews, I gave this place a try. I LOVE Thai food and was hoping that I would find a place that would be my new Thai place. I ordered my standard order — pad kee mao (aka drunken noodle) with shrimp. I picked it up and got home to eat. When I opened up the package I quickly saw problem number one: the dish had the wrong noodles.

Rather than the long flat wide fresh rice noodles, I had broken up narrow rice noodles. Flat and but only maybe a 1/2 inch wide as opposed to an inch or so. But, I figured...as long as it tastes good, we should be good.

It didn’t taste right though. 😞. It wasn’t spicy or flavorful enough. But I was very happy that I have sriracha at home.

The restaurant is conveniently located in Commerce Center. It is beautifully decorated. The music is soft and soothing. The service is great. They filled our water several times. The owner came over a few times to see if we needed anything. The food was delicious.i went with my friends on Thursday and didn't know Thursday is ladies night so our main entrees were half price. We found out Wednesday is Seniors day and the main entrees are half price. Everything is a la carte so be aware the rice is extra. I would love to see more vegetables added to the dishes. Very Very disappointed ordered Pad See Ew & Basil Chicken Drunken noodles tonight for dinner, both the items barely had any vegetables unlike most Thai restaurants and tasted exactly the same , no sign of any sauce whatsoever. We had instructed one item spicy and one medium spicy very clearly food was near to bland . Drunken noodles were not even the usual wide flat noodles, apart from the the bland and tasteless noodles the quantity was also not the usual, one box was filled properly and the other was skimp. Tried to call them immediately after tasting the food, No one answered the call .. All in all a ruined Friday...
