If I could give 0 stars I would. My friend had her wedding here and it was horrible. I went to the original booking appt with her, the woman Lisa showed us the venue and it was already set up for a different event as it would be for my friends wedding, we saw that some of the table clothes and napkins were dirty and showed her and she assured us it wouldn’t be like that for the wedding…big shocker they still were dirty ( pictures attached). Also while we were there talking about the venue another set of people came to look at the venue and Lida left us and went to speak with them even though we were there first, we waited for her to finish with the other people for about 30 minutes, honestly we should have taken this as a sign not to book this venue. It was extremely unprofessional. By the end of the appt we were only given a receipt for the amount per person but not an overall contract. She then charged us additional fees on many items and kept telling us to refer to the contract which we never even got. The day of wedding we were told to show up at 3:15 to set up and when we got there there was a kids party going on, they asked us to wait a bit and they would clean up, when the kids left at 3:40 they proceeded to use a leaf blower on the inside of the venue and as you can imagine they did a horrible job, balloons and confetti was left everywhere (pictures attached). There was also marker all over the table clothed and when we showed them they said they didn’t have any other ones and just moved the table clothes around so the cups and plates covered the stains. But most were still showing. The bathroom was also clogged and the bathroom in the bridal suite was also full of cardboard boxes and the bridal suite bathroom was dirty and had no toilet paper or paper towels. The wedding was catered from a different restaurant and we needed to use their stove just to heat a few dishes and they charged my friend $550, they didn’t mind paying a fee to use the kitchen but having to pay $550 for just a few minutes of stovetop use was ridiculous; when the staff were asked how the $550 was calculated they said we were being annoying and our card would be swiped 10 times if we didn’t stop. Also when we informed them their customer service was bad they said “we don’t sell customer services here” what do you mean you are in the customer service industry. So overall this was a terrible experience with bad staff, overcharged prices and dirty venue. Please do not book here. It would be better to book a school gym then this horrible, terrible, awful place.

Visit #2: Oct 17 2019 karwachauth dinner picked up for svp. Got kadhai paneer, Chana masala, dal makhni and naan. Same experience as the first time as the curries were good but not the dessert. Rasmalai tasted ok but the milk was quiet thick and had weird taste. So, this place is recommended for the food but skip desserts. $131 for so much food, good prices! Recommendation: yes. Visit #1: Went with Vibhor for a pre-celebratory lunch before the new car. $11 for buffet. Plenty of vegetarian options available: dal makhni, Chana masala, navratan kurma, kadhi pakoda, vegetable of the day( eggplant based), paneer makhni and matar pulao. Everything tasted good. Special love for sambhar which was the best I in a while. Also, garlic naan served on the table was fresh and soft, I ate one without any curry so good. One star deducted for desserts. Both gulabjamun and custard were sub-par. Kindly work on this aspect and this restaurant becomes a great spot for Indian buffet. P.s. the dining area is pretty but the restrooms looked like they do not belong to this fine place. Consider improving the appearances?

We had a recent lunch party at Guru palace. The owners are sweet and nice to talk to. We confirmed 2 times for our booking and again a 3rd time for theme. On the day of party, we walked into with everything ready. They even put a sign since we were in the smaller hall. Food was good even though starters were too spicy. I don;t remember telling them about the spiciness so I give them that point. I have only 3 major complaints and reason for 3 star review.1. Women's washroom flush was not working but they repaired it. They promised us DJ, but all we got was a faulty music system. We could hear the music but the lyrics/sound(not sure how to explain) was low. We could not make-out what song was playing. That actually spoiled the whole party for us. Last the cake was cut up slowly and brought very late. All our guests were asking where is cake? That was embarrassing. But I guess, you get what you pay for. Will I don another party here, not sure. Lastly, we were charged a service tax on top of agreed price, which was not communicated earlier so this came as a surprise.

Unfortunately, appointments and timing of others are not well respected by this establishment as evidenced by other google reviews. We scheduled an appointment to book the venue for an event in the upcoming months. Driving from 1.5 hours away, we had expected to discuss details at the designated set time we established. 30 minutes sitting there waiting, waiter brings us to the banquet hall, owner Lisa that’s supposed to show us the venue is with another customer (not sure what the purpose of having an appointment if will not be respected). At this time one of the waitstaff members brought us into the room where she was with someone else, stated she’ll be back in a few minutes. We wait an additional 10 minutes walk outside to see the customers she was with talking to whom I now presume to be the other owner in hind site. Walk into the restaurant and she’s with ANOTHER CLIENT! What is the purpose of making an appointment if it cannot be respected. Our time is just as valuable. we opted to leave not wanting the food we had ordered to try in event we went with this venue. As we get into the car and are leaving this man, I’m assuming Vineet Singh comes by and said he came out all the way for us (45 minutes post appointment) like he’s doing us a favor. My wife visibly upset at the level of unprofessionalism, expresses this to him and he states “ good leave, I don’t want you here or for you to host here, And your attitude!” While making a hand gesture to leave. I am not in the hospitality industry but if you the restauranteur are at fault, late for the meeting, ignore clientele and instead of apologizing come up with that kind of response

  1. I am glad we chose to leave bc ultimately would have resulted in a terrible experience during a precious time in our life
  2. being bitter and egotistical without recognizing how much of an issue this is and that as an adult failure to recognize one’s own faults in this, is not someone I would want to do business with.

I do not leave reviews because I don’t believe in saying something if I don’t have anything nice to say and we believe in supporting Amal businesses, but this was...

Tons of Indian restaurants around New Jersey - some well known and some so-so. Guru Palace does not ring like a celebrity restaurant but this is our third time around where they completely nailed it with their awesome food and fabulous service. First time - around 2 years back, we attended a birthday party over here and we absolutely loved their food. So, this time, after going around a couple of places, we decided to do the baby shower here. And their food was fantastic! Most Indian Dinner buffets around Jersey are so very run of the mill, that people don't talk about it. However, we are continuously receiving rave reviews about the food from our guests!!!!

We has just 3 appetizers and 3 entries and each one of them were a class of its own! the Hara Bhara Kabab was just like you get in Mumbai and the Chicken 65 was spicy and tangy and every bit authentic!! Trust me, our guests ranged from Indian to Pakistani, Puerto Rican and Argentinian - and every one of them was raving. Dinner time was quiet time!

However, the most important of the entire experience was Lily - the manager. It is said that establishments are not made famous by only their product but the people who run it. From the time we had met her to book our party till the very end when my very pregnant wife was tired and sitting down after the party - Lily's caring nature, bringing her a mango lassi that is fantastic at this place and her super efficient servers - made the entire event very enjoyable and stress-free!!!

I would definitely recommend this place!! If you going to a lunch buffet or ordering a la carte - the items I would order again and again are their mutton curry, malai kofta, hara bhara kabab!! I have seen them consistently maintain their quality and I hope they never let Lily go from this place!! She makes the place...
