My family usually goes to 91 a couple times a year for birthdays. Tonight was by far the worst experience we've had there. The server disappeared for long stretches of time. We were seated (with reservations, in a half-empty restaurant) for 30 minutes before our food order was taken. The complimentary bread/oil/vinegar wasn't at the table like normal when we arrived. We had to ask for it, and it seemed to be an inconvenience. They ran out of halibut after we ordered, and didn't tell us for 10 minutes. The manager came out to apologize but offered no recompense. Our food did not arrive until we had been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours. Not once did the server or manager offer a reason. It is my experience that people don't mind waiting as much when they know the reason why. The server dropped several dishes breaking at least one next to our table. After our meal finally arrived no one bothered to ask if we were satisfied. The manager walked by several times with a sour look on his face.
The server certainly bears some responsibility for the debacle, but the manager was fully aware and failed to do what his job title implies - MANAGE. I will return to 91 later this year for another birthday dinner in hopes of a much better experience than this one.

Read moreTruly an authentic, legitimate, professional establishment that delivers exactly upon what it promises in a measured and classy way. Many places over promise and under deliver or focus on more on schtick than substance, not 91. If you desire something higher end they have you covered, if you are in the mood for more casual they have your back too. & It's the little things that can impress you also.
For example they cut the greens in their Caesar Salad to an appropriate size such that they are easily placed upon your fork and don't cascade all over the place while you're trying to enjoy them during dinner conversations either by needing to macerate them yourself or look like a heifer calf trying to eat from a bale of long stemmed alfalfa hay.
Great wine list (Tuesday specials appreciated), maybe the Craft Beer list could use a little "bump" but you can walk across the parking lot for that if really a priority. The Old Fashions are spot on and well crafted also.
Great communication from the staff and management also, exceedingly great service without being in your grill all the time.
Thanks for being a part of...
Read moreRead all here, because the review is in two parts... Every once in a while we will venture out to another nice restaurant thinking we will find something better. But so far 91 has been and our favorite. Nothing beats the blackened chicken over risotto served with a dirty martini! They make the best martinis in Ohio!!! Because of its excellent service history, I will give it one more chance. This review is ongoing. Hopefully I can remove the bad part of this review back to its original 5 star status. I have been to this establishment a number of times since the one incident that was a bad experience. I am changing my review to all 5 stars, because the one bad day turned out to be a fluke. Thank goodness, because I love their blackened chicken over risotto. It is the only thing I order every time. I make sure to ask for extra raspberry sauce in a small cup to dip the...
