Extremely disappointing. My advice, do not order from this restaurant. City Grill and Wings is new to the Harrisburg area and my wife and I were excited to try it out for the first time. I placed an order online to pick up at the Harrisburg location and waited about 10 min before leaving my home to pick our families order up.
After arriving I went inside and asked if my order was ready. The two individuals working the register gave me a dumbfounded look and started to look at their screen before one of them spoke up to tell me I had obviously ordered from the wrong location (they have another location in Concord).
The second individual working the register chimed in to say she had seen my order and marked it as “complete” purposefully. They were about 10 min away from closing for the night so doing this would allow them to begin their end of night processes. She said several times it still would have been communicated to the back for preparation.
Although frustrating, I decided not to make a big deal out of it and said I would wait in my car for my order to be prepared.
I went back to my car and decided to pull up to the front door (it was almost closing time and no one was there) hoping they would bring it out considering I had already come in to pick it up and learned they never started my order. I assumed customer service would be top of mind at this point.
After ~10 min I walked back in to ask if my order was ready only to have those same individuals go through the exact same conversation we had 10 min prior. Not only did they not begin making my order, that we had already confirmed was sent in, the same employee from before stated again I ordered from the wrong location and I would need to call the Concord location to figure it out.
Thankfully, there’s the internet. I immediately pulled up my receipt (showing I had ALREADY paid for my meal) and confirmed I had ordered from the correct location (Harrisburg).
The two employees working the registers continued to turn in circles not knowing what to do. At this point I asked for my order to be canceled and the $40 I had already paid to this location be refunded.
Even asking for a refund was challenging. I’m not sure they could see my order and it was pretty clear they had no idea how to process the refund based on the circumstances. After waiting 3-5 more minutes I asked if they had processed my refund and if I could leave. They were not communicating with me (only staring at the computer screen).
The only positive in this story was a gentleman that came out to help towards the very end of this ordeal. He offered to start cooking my order (which I was greatly appreciative of), but I was not willing to wait another 15 min after what I had already experienced. The other employees did everything they could to blame me until the facts showed otherwise. I simply wanted to get my refund and leave. This same gentleman also said he would make sure the refund was processed, apologized and told me I could leave (which I’m also grateful for).
Now I just have to wait and see if my refund actually gets processed. Thanks, City Grill and...
Read moreMy husband and I love wings and fell in love with this place and would eat her often. We never had an issue until the night of super bowl Sunday. We placed an order for for 15 of their red tang (Buffalo mixed with lemon pepper) wings to take to a friends house as we were in charge of bringing wings. We had told our friend how good these wings were and bragged about them for weeks only to be disappointed. When we picked up the wings my husband didn’t inspect the wings because we ate there often and never had an issue. Upon arrival at our friend’s house we sat the wings on the table and thought nothing if it. Our friend and his wife began to grab a few wings to eat and made a comment on how dry the wings were and how they didn’t taste like they had any lemon pepper on them but instead only tasted like a basic dry Buffalo wing. My husband and I were shocked to hear the negative feedback because normally they are really good and you end up licking the sauce off of your fingertips. At this point my husband and I go and grab a wing to try and sure enough they were dry Buffalo wings with no trace of the lemon pepper. My husband called to report the issue. A lady answered and was very rude. She told him the wings must have absorbed all the sauce. My husband told her we had never had this happen before and she rudely told him it happens and she should know because she works there. She then told him he had to bring the wings back. So my husband had to leave during halftime and missed the whole halftime show and part of the second half, to take the wings back. When he got there the lady was still rude and did not want to refund my husband his money because some had been eaten. She stood by the dryness with saying the sauce was absorbed. My husband ended up speaking to the owners son who was basically co-signed the lady and told my husband that the lady works there so she does know what she is talking about. He also didn’t want to admit fault until he had to admit that we were given the wrong wings. He then rudely told my husband that’s the only reason he would give him a full refund but it it happened again he would not do the same. This was horrible customer service to treat the customer this way when clearly you were in the wrong. This was not our fault yet we were talked down to when we were inconvenienced and didn’t get the quality product we paid for. My husband had to drive around to find other wings and missed the first part of the second half of the game. As much as we enjoyed their wings in the past, we will not give our money or business to a place like this who treats their customers like trash when they make a mistake. I will definitely spread the word so no one else gets treated this...
Read moreCity grill and wings has long been my favorite Wing restaurant, so I have no idea why I have waited so very long to write this review! City grill and wings is my favorite for so many reasons. Firstly, the atmosphere of the place is a healthy and vibrant one. It's very family friendly and has well distinguished bar and restaurant areas that promote a good mood throughout. Secondly, the wings themselves are significantly larger than Wild Wing Cafe or Buffalo Wild Wings, and the flavors are incomparably better. I'm told that the wing sauces are cooked into the wings as well as being drizzled on them, unlike other places where only the latter is true. This method allows for so much more flavor in the wings! Additionally, there are SO MANY FLAVORS! You could visit this restaurant two dozen times and still not try every wing flavor.
So what about those who don't care for the heat of wings? Good news! Unlike other places where the spice level of the wings is specifically tied to the flavor you choose, at City grill and wings, you can choose ANY flavor you want and specify ANY heat level you want! All the way from no spice "virgin" to award winning "insanity"! Personally I tend to get mild, medium, or hot, but there is a heat index for anyone and everyone.
Outside of wings, City grill and wings has a plethora of other delicious foods you can try. From their wraps to their burgers, flatbreads, burgers, salads, and cake .... Even those who aren't wing lovers will find something they will enjoy. My personal recommendation: Try the Lemmon peppered wings( dry rub)! You can swap out the buffalo sauce for ANY of their wing sauces (of course, at whichever spice level you want!) and it makes for a truly outstanding wrap.
All in all, this is a must-go restaurant if you have one nearby. A well earned 5 star, and I have no interest in any other wing restaurant now that I have City grill and wings there’s no other place for me to go.
Oh and did I mention-- they have a cookie skillet for dessert.... Mmm... Don't...
