I ordered a philly cheese steak, fries and arnold palmer. The fries and drink were good. My steak was actually horrible. I called my order in but, the cook managed to screw it up or the female who took my order messed it up. How simple can it be to cook a philly with fried onions, american cheese, ketchup, mustard, mayo and black pepper. I also requested my meat to be chopped up finely due to surgery. There was no cheese or onions and the meat was still chunky. I am from Philly. Needless to say, I was really disappointed. I took two bites and couldn't eat anymore because of the taste and texture. My son was with me. I was going to call for a redo or refund but, both of us decided to take the L and not order from this place again. I could have visited this and tried another dish but, the stir downs, red faces and lack of friendliness, turned us off. The place was full and had a lively clientele. I spoke to people around the pickup area but, what I received in return was this: If you knew what was good for you, look around at our crowd, and shake a tail- feather, out the door. Hey, for those who follow me know I don't mix my words. Right Right?
I am glad my son was with me and I went in daylight! My stomach was doing flips at the thought of me being alone in that place at night! If the opportunity had presented itself and no one was around to help me escape, I know this couple sitting at the bar would have given orders to put me in no mans land. The lady rolled her eyes, tooted up her nose, and turned red. Even after saying excuse me, the man wouldn't move so I could get the ketchup. The waitress finally handed me a togo container of ketchup. My son even went for the ketchup. The man with the red, white and blue cheeks, didn't budge one inch, when my son said excuse me but, guess what, he still got the ketchup bottle. We are respectful of people. No matter, of the color of skin. This was more than obvious, we were not invited to be there, and the look of the karens, spoke loud and clear, colorful skin people, beware because you are not invited here, not by the clientele. I'm not saying the staff were not welcoming. The cooks were actually more colorful than I but, I am cautious because even my color, can be colorful, in disguise. To the owners of the pub, I did not feel welcome, in the midst of the day, this I am so sorry to say, I will never step foot back into your establishment, again. I took the L because I'd rather, lose to live! All I ask is to try to encourage your regulars to be color blind because we are all made up of flesh and blood, created by One God. People are usually amazed when they discover, every living human being has at least one ounce of black blood. Wow, I guess that makes all of us, related. Ask My Father, we all have His DNA. This doesn't make too much that this review is needed. Other people of color may experience a much friendlier crowd, on a Saturday afternoon. Perhaps this was an isolated incident. It didn't feel that way but, it's a possibility. Guess who will never know? Me!
Thanks in advance for making Pub 49 more colorful and friendly.

Read moreSo I recently rated this spot 4.5 stars because of the food, and the owner. The owner is such a nice person. My husband and I have been here many times, no problem. Tonight was a horrible horrible experience. The manager, Abbie, who made sure I spelled her name correctly, did not care how she spoke to me nor my husband. We ordered food to go and had drinks at the bar while we waited. We always spend Over $130 plus when we visit but tonight we were belittled, acted like we could not pay for our bill and just right treated horribly. I always come to a place to enjoy myself but tonight is a night I decided that I would never visit here again. Even though Abbie doesn't care about our business I hope the owner sees this and understands our concerns. I always give kudos to those who do their job with a great personality and that's why last time my husband and I asked for the owner to tell him how much we loved coming here but now due to Abbie it will be no more. She needs to work on her customer service skills. Another thing is there was a customer who asked for extra ranch sauce she gave it to him with no extra cost but when my husband asked she said if you don't want to pay I'm taking it back how is that okay? So because my skin color is different you can charge me for extra but the other customer gets a pass. So unacceptable our money is both green and no it's not all about the sauce it was the manager nasty attitude. Very disappointed in this experience....
Read moreUPDATE: After the nice response from the owner we went back last week. The lunch waitstaff was definitely different and improved. Our waitress was friendly and provided great service. Thank you for caring about your business and customers Pub 49. I am leaving my original comments so that others can see that this place works at customer service which isn't always the norm these days. Nice casual place to eat with great food and service! Have been there twice in recent months. The food is good but the waitresses make it a miserable experience. I don't expect to be treated like royalty but something beyond rude indifference would help a lot. No greeting from either lunch waitress, both seemed annoyed to have to provide service. We tried in vain to ask for drink refills and finally went to the counter ourselves. We thought our first experience might have been a one-off. Everyone has a bad day occasionally right? Second time convinced us that our first impression was correct. We still tipped but not because they...
