Cook Out — Restaurant in North Carolina

There was 1 car ahead of me in the drive-thru when I pulled up to the second menu board around 130pm on a Tuesday. The lady taking the orders was very fast on the mic. Made me feel rushed. Ordering for my mom and I, I ordered a Chicken Quesadilla, a Medium Coke Float. A Medium Diet Coke, a hot dog with mustard, slaw, and ketchup. A medium onion rings and a medium cheese curds. What we got was astonishing.

Well, firstly, when I was done ordering I began the car and dance around the building to get back to the window. By the time I got around the building, there were 2 more cars in front of me. When I finally pulled up to the window, it was $17, and change for my order, they tried to give me someone else's order of two shakes, I told them that's not right. The lady at the window then read back to me my order and proceeded to hand me a bag with two Styrofoam containers and two large drinks, one of which was a Sprite. I said I ordered a Coke float and a medium diet coke. She sighed and then took the drink back and tried to charge me $3 more for my float, then they comped it and just gave me one.

It was the saddest, most pathetic looking Coke float in the world, no fizz in the soda, a very unappetizing lump of ice cream with chunks of whipped cream.

We exited the drive-thru in about 15 minutes. Pulled into a parking spot in the rear of the building and proceeded to open up someone else's order.

Inside the containers, there was no hot dog and no onion rings. Instead, we got chicken strips a few thrown in cheese curds in each container, cheese fries and THREE Chicken Quesadillas. I would've gone back, but by that time, there were 5 cars in the drive-thru, and we just angrily ate the food. My mom's diet coke DID NOT taste like Diet Coke or Coke Zero or regular Coke. It might have been Cheerwine, not even sure tbh.

All in all, it was hilarious and sad that a place known for its backyard grill, Mom and Pop feel couldn't even get just about all of my order correct even on the 2nd try. I think it's only by happenstance that they got my chicken Quesadilla right.

It will be a long time before I go back to this establishment. The food was good btw but terrible service...

07MAY2025WED [YET ANOTHER LATEST FALDERAL] I ate here earlier this evening. Then we stopped in to get my spouse some food and ordered a two hot dog combo and a slice of blueberry cheesecake but there is no phone number for the store to call and get my name on a list so we can come by there next time and pick up a slice of pie rather than go all the way to the restaurant for just that.

30DEC2024MON [LATEST FALDERAL] SO WE HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WHO HAS AT LEAST AN ALLERGY TO ONIONS (Not anaphylaxia but itching and scratching so you have to take Benadryl to cover up cookouts mistake) AND WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT I ASKED FOR GRILLED ONIONS AND GOT RAW ONIONS ON TOP OF IT SO IF I'VE GOT TO TAKE IT BACK I'VE GOT TO TAKE EVERYTHING BACK AND REMAKE THE WHOLE BLOODY ORDER IS ANYBODY REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING THERE !!!!!!!

After eating my food and letting my other family member sit and wait on me patiently for me to finish my food so the cookout wouldn't have to make two meals I went back and took the hot dogs back and it wasn't really what I expected to receive as far as believability or what have you but as soon as I went to describe the situation about what I needed over the order intercom I still couldn't get my point across They still thought I needed raw onions and fresh onions

They did however finally get things straight and I was able to move along with two new hot dogs but from now on I will be checking all my food items before I leave the window

21APR2024SUN So I was told when I looked at the contents of my spouses tray with two sides that you get a half a cup of cheese bites and four onion rings well they did manage to sneak those items into the tray as you can see I'd much rather order fries in my opinion to get more for your money

18NOV2023SAT: This is just an FYI. I stopped by this location as I tend to do even though I have a problem with a cheesecake slice issue some time ago.

I am a huge Cook Out fanatic and I go to Cook Out quite often. I love their cajun style chicken sandwich and their cajun seasoning dusted fries and that's usually what I order and if you haven't tried either of those yet I highly recommend you try them cause you have no idea what you are missing cause they are the best thing since sliced internet and man dominating the moon (Seriously it's that good! 😉) Fantastic freshly made milkshakes as well and they have 40+ flavors to choose from and you can combine milkshake flavors for even more options so there's a flavor for even the most pickiest of tastebuds. Conveniently located off the interstate as well for anybody traveling through Mebane. They have a huge dining room at this location (Most locations do not have a dining room for those not familiar with Cook Out) as well as their iconic double line drive-thru here. Cook Out does a ton of business everyday at every location they have and if you taste their food you'll see why. Very respectful employee's and very fast service considering how busy they stay most of the time. Very clean dining room and very clean bathrooms.
