Ordered for the first time.... a Bella donna... which is ham, mushrooms, and and pink sauce, which is just a mix of marinara and Alfredo sauce... I know they were happy that I place an order, because the order came out to 25.00... anyway...I added shrimp. And it came with a salad... Well I wish I never added the shrimp... because adding the shrimp made them skimp on the mushrooms and ham... I was thinking would I have gotten any protein at all if I hadn't added the shrimp... they're were about five mushroom pieces in the undersauced pasta and about 6 pieces of ham.... it was easy see that there was barely any protein besides the one I added because the penne pasta itself is never ending and quite intimidating because there is soo much dry pasta to the ratio of meat. I will never try this place again.I spent big. Got an all pasta dish, If I had to be honest.. the flavor of the pink flushed sauce was lack luster... it should have been richer. I have had better at valerio's italian restaurant. It wasn't worth taking a photo of it... I have alot left over. As I have picked out the mushrooms and ham pieces because they themselves were the best and least part...
Read moreI will have to say I'm not very pleased with my trip this time. I called in and ordered using the online menu which is labeled as the Mebane Oaks Road location, I ordered 10 wings which on the online menu says they are $6.50 and the spinach ravioli Sophia which is $13.00. Well when I get there they tell me my total is $26.00 even with tax that is impossible. He says the online menu is for the other location and hands me their menu. Not my problem y'all have the wrong menu online for that location. Instead of him making it right, his response was well in my opinion this Ciao's locations food taste better anyway so it's worth more. Very unprofessional and they did not make it right. It is not my fault that the menu did not match up with the location that you have online. So in my opinion they should have given me the food for what it was labeled as on the menu that I ordered from. May not seem like a big deal to most but that is false advertisement and if I didn't have the money to pay for price that was listed on their menu what would...
Read moreGood homemade Italian food at fair prices. Since this was my first time at Caio's, I relied on my waitstaff recommendation. She picked lasagna - excellent choice. I know people who order that first and judge the restaurant by their lasagna. Caio's will always do well leading with their lasagna.
As good as my lasagna was my wife "won dinner" with her order of Puttanesca. The waitress warned it was spicy and we were depending on it. 😀 It was so savory with just the right amount of heat (red pepper?). The tomatoes were fresh and acidic and you could taste every ingredient. I'm getting this next time.
My wife and I agreed the tiramasu was too good to share next time. We want our own! The coffee soaked lady fingers n the bottom were "chef's kiss" good.
Waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and gave good advice (which is valuable since it insures a good dining experience). Two of us ate for $40.
We'll be coming back and will recommend them to friends. I'll even recommend Caio's to enemies - maybe they'll like me after...
