Handel's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in North Carolina

I mean the ice cream is really good. I had just a root beer float and my date had a cone with three scoops key lime pie chocolate and strawberry I tasted all three very good. but what really stood out was the customer service! It was our third date and so being a man without a lot of game as they say lol I immediately dropped my whole root beer float on the parking lot. now I was broke the day I took her out on our third date not proud of that but in fact I spent every dime I had just getting us the ice cream. so I was just going to eat what was still in the cup LOL. BUT this young lady that I've got a fourth date with this week yay for me anyways she was like oh no you have to get a new one and so I was just going to like overdraft my card cuz you don't want to be like hey so third date and I can't afford another root beer float anyways I got grass but what was so cool I got out there with my card and that kid that was working he already had me another one made and when I tried to give him my debit card he was like oh no no don't worry it's on us and he could tell that I was all nervous with her. they were extremely polite and and the ice cream was really good and they saved me from being embarrassed what else can you ask or from an ice cream place right. see if Ben and Jerry ever give that kind of...

We finally got a chance to stop by Handel's. We took a bit to browse the menu before deciding on the sampler - love that they offer this so you can get small scoops of four different flavors.

What we got: *OREE-DOUGH: vanilla ice cream with Oreo® cookies and cookie dough pieces. *CINNAMON ROLL: yellow cake batter ice cream with brown sugar cinnamon ripple. *STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE CHUNK: cheesecake ice cream with strawberry ripple and cheesecake chunks. *CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BROWNIE: chocolate ice cream with Reese’s Peanut Butter® ripple and brownie chunks.

Loved all of them, but my strawberry cheesecake and cinnamon roll were my favorites! Just flavorful and creamy ice cream.

As a side note, I want to point out service - I saw Chris on the name tag. He was patient as we slowly ordered and confirmed what we wanted. Then, when he fulfilled our order, he put two spoons in the container and then asked if we wanted a bag since I had questioned the container type to take home. He just paid attention to details and provided wonderful friendly service. Handels - please give him praise!

I had a craving for Handel's ice cream today. Went to the steel creek location on my lunch break. There were about 6 people in front of me, no one behind me. No worries, I wanted this ice cream. Everyone is giving their order to the young lady behind the window. The line wasn't moving slow. Another young lady approached to help with orders. At this point, there was a customer st each of the 2 windows and me standing in line. No one behind me. The first young lady finishes with her customer and walks away. No problem with that. Then the 2nd young lady finishes with her customer and walks away. I stood there for a minute waiting. No one acknowledged me, said give me a moment, NOTHING. So I stick my head through the window and ask if anyone I gonna take my order. Again, I am the ONLY customer left in line in the hot sun. I wait a minute more, NOTHING. So I left. I just thought this was really rude. I work in customer service myself and would never leave 1 customer to wait. If there was a line or just a few people behind me I would've understood. That wasn't the case. This was the first AND LAST...
