P T's Olde Fashioned Grille — Restaurant in North Carolina

The following statement is not given, nor should it be taken, lightly: P T's is an ILM Institution & Standard! Multiple locations and multiple years serving Locals and Gapers alike, P T's is an ILM/WB staple! Unlike many (many) places, they carved through the "Three-Year Curse" like it was a perfect glassy face, and they remain true to their original purpose and goals: Offer great food, incredible locations, awesome interior designs, a unique & continuously cycling of on-Tap & bottle beer selections – Local, Micro, Imports with Guinness always Good To Go, after the 120 seconds required to pour and present a proper Pint of the Black Stuff, of course. The same care and quality goes into every thing made & served by a great Staff and friendly Owners, all of whom care about their Customers, as much as they do about the area! I've not had a chance to visit in a few years (work brought me inland😢) but I miss their burgers and fries as much as I do surfing! Whilst amazing, the food & drinks aren't the only items deserving accolades. The commitment to the Local Community, esp. "The Water" i.e. the beaches, watersheds, river, creeks, animals, ocean {the Waves & those riding said Waves} sets them apart from most of the Local SMB Owners & 99% of corporate businesses. The great work they do with local charities and conservation efforts needs mentioning because P T's does so both in an official capacity e.g. sponsoring & participating with other Local Businesses during a Beach Sweep, cleaning M'Boro after GaperFest² and/or Amateur Weekend³. The Staff & Owners genuinely care about these issues. IOW: They don't need a Staged Event to do something helpful. They're out in The Water, so they share that special love and bond we all harbour. From a pre-session trash-grab, volunteering & doing the "little things" most people never notice, and that's awesome! They don't blag, the ol' "We're a 'Local' SMB and we Give-a-Toss' mantle, especially when involving the Press. They live and do it! Plus, they are just kind and chill people, in the Line-Up or serving incredible cheeseburgers. It's why I respect them so much & miss grabbing a bite (and surfing. sigh)

This place is the mos def go-to for a pre-Session lunch, a great dinner before hitting the evening's itinerary, a great lunch or dinner just because, and/or a great take away! The burgers & fries are so Based, I'd take up arms, aggressively with hostile-intent, and invade a small to medium-sized nation or Near-Peer Adversary and face a War Crimes Tribunal simply to keep the Olde Fashioned Burger™ (w/ Bacon. Duh) on the menu/within this Multi-Verse. Not hyperbole! My Defence? It's 8oz of perfectly cooked cow, cheese, bacon, lettuce, & tomatoes resting on a home-made bun pimped-out on a pile of home-made fries! Using this as Just Cause & my defence? The Ruling at The Hague would/will vote in my favour & I'm avoiding International Criminal Court charges! Hooray! True story ...kinda.

The wonderful food/beer selections, based Staff, chill atmospheres and authentic layouts yield a gnarly final result; each location (there are five! Congratulations, y'all!) highlights the chill attitude & uniqueness found throughout ILM, W. Beach & the Greater Cape Fear Stat. Area! Please, if you've not dropped-in do the right thing and hurry the Hell up! (Note: If you're a recent "Local", you better be ≤ Six Weeks. Any longer without a visit means you're technically not a Local. Sorry. {I'm not. And, I don't make the rules😁}

Boiling Point: (If I could give Zero Stars I would)

The food is always good here and at all the locations I have been to. In fact, I have your seasoning at home. That isn't the problem. Here is the problem. Every time I come to this particular location (Porters Neck/Ogden) my to go orders are always messed up!!! Sometimes they forget a fry, a burger, a salad, a salad dressing, or leave an ingredient or 2 off that I had requested and may have paid for time and time again!!!! Part of it is my fault for not taking the time to open the bags, check each individual burger and make sure everything is in there and accounted for!!! I don't live around the corner so I just deal with the mistakes when I get home!!!

In addition to all of this, the times I have called in an order, my order is 100% not ready when I get there. I am still waiting another 20 min +. You know why??? It's because the staff doesn't start making my order until I arrive at the location. What is the point of allowing someone to call in an order???

Tonight!!!: After waiting for 45min (possibly longer) my order was given to someone else!! So the staff had to remake my entire order and I had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes!!!!! How does this happen or any of this for that matter??? Your system seems to be orderly and precise, which is why I don't understand how this happens every time??? Maybe I just have bad luck??? I also understand that I came at the Peak time but this is unacceptable!!!! The staff did apologize and gave me cards to pay for my next meal. However, I was at my breaking point due to everything that has happened from previous experiences.

PT'S: Your food is good, your staff is always pleasant but maybe the staff needs to be trained to PAY MORE ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!!! Also, GET RID of allowing customers to call in an order if you are going to just make a customer wait when they get there!!!!

Done with PT's for now....I'm sure I will be back, but maybe not to...

A great place for casual dining and usually quick service (sometimes busy in the summertime at lunch). Fill out the papers to order at the counter, and pay at the counter when you're done eating. Eat inside, or there's a pretty outdoor area with a counter, too. Vegetarian friendly with Veggie burgers, black bean burgers and salad. I like to get the black bean burger as a salad, with extras like mushrooms and jalapenos (just check black bean burger and what you want on it, then circle "Salad" and extras, and pick your drink. Salads don't come with fries , but you can circle "Extra Fries" and pay the extra to get them, too - they come with lots of salt and pepper and are delicious. Just explain if it's complicated - they're great at accommodating special orders. They have grilled chicken salad, too, and grilled cheese. Everyone is always so nice and helpful, and it's family friendly. Bring your dog to sit...
