Camme's International Food & Grocery — Restaurant in North Charleston

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND VERY DIRTY PLACE!! I'm from Trinidad 🇹🇹 and was excited to see this store in Charleston, went in and wasn't even greeted by any of the 4 workers. The place was very dusty and rotten fruits and vegetables were on display. I swear EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING I picked up was expired as far back as July 22nd, 2022 (today is August 3rd, 2023). We walked out and went next door to the restaurant section, and wasn't even greeted by the girl there and the containers (warmers) which the food are in had scum marks on them and looked very dirty. Very dark, smelly, murky, dusty restaurant. They needed a zero star! A shame to label themselves as Caribbean, knowing we take pride in our cleanliness and hospitality. The food here is so good! The pasty on the beef patties are tasty, light and flaky. They keep me coming back for more! Everything from the Fish Stew to the Oxtail is so full of flavor and delicate spices, will make your mouth water!. We get take out as Camme's seems set-up for that best but there is nice seating for dine-in, long community table with comfy seats. Think of it as an authentic Caribbean Roadside Cafe-Like Atmosphere and you won't be disappointed. You can see, feel and taste the pride that goes into each dish. I just had Jerk Chicken delivered thru Door Dash and it was delicious! I love the fact that they put the sauce in the side because the sauce was too sweet for me, but the chicken had just the right amount of spice to leave a little great lingering on the tongue without burning your taste buds off. It also had a nice smokey flavor. The vegetables served on the side were seasoned just right and absolutely delicious! I'm glad to have found this place because there's a place closer to me, but they don't put the sauce on the side and it's way too sweet! I'll definitely be ordering...
