The wife and I visited CB on 5 7 25. We were “highly” disappointed in the service, specifically the terrible drink and overpriced mediocre food. I ordered a drink I’ve never had, some type of coconut 🥥 milk, it was awful, so, I ordered a “coke”, the problem there was that it came on an 8oz glass, with what it look like a pound of ice in 2oz of “coke”, the food came and it was utterly mediocre, burnt and absolutely ridiculously overpriced. They did not have any Colombian beers nor any local US beer on tap or bottles!!!My wife is from Colombia 🇨🇴 and I wanted to give her a taste of home, however, it was not to be so, the oil they cooked with gave us severe heartburn and a nasty taste afterwards. When the bill came was nearly $90, for 2 nearly standard meals and no liquor, I asked the serviceman if he could take the off the disgusting drink from the bill? As I literally only had 2 sips, he instead and from the goodness of his heart, stated he would not charge me for the 2oz of coke and the pound of ice! We pay the bill, requested boxes for the barely touched food, left the correct protocol tip and got the hell out of Dodge!! We then opted to go and find a roachcoach called “Tropicana” It was an absolute and pleasurable treat, the food tasted much fresh and the “coke” from the fountain had a “sweetness” to it, as if reviving our hopes for businesses that cook great meals. We pay the bill with a larger tip to patronize “that” business. It was early the day we visited CB and stands to reason the place was nearly emptied, however, there is no doubt it has potential of offering a great atmosphere in prime times specially with the outdoor seating. Just don’t buy food nor soft drinks but do enjoy the atmosphere outside!! I.E., our dogs would not eat the...

We drove four hours to visit a friend and made a point to stop at La Ciudad Bonita in North Charleston—and I’m so glad we did. This place absolutely exceeded all expectations.
Our server, Dani, was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. He took the time to explain the menu, made great recommendations, and even surprised us with a thoughtful little gift of candies at the end. That level of warmth and hospitality made the experience truly memorable.
The food was phenomenal. We started with beef empanadas—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the Chuleta, and I had the Picada, which included chicharrón, morcilla (blood sausage), chicken, churrasco with chimichurri, and perfectly roasted potatoes, all served with a tasty white dipping sauce. Everything was rich, juicy, and absolutely spot-on. And I can’t forget the patacones (tostones)—crispy, golden perfection.
La Ciudad Bonita is the real deal—delicious food, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re among friends. Can’t wait...
Read moreNot what we expected. We were hoping for traditional Columbian entrees, more like the excellent restaurant in West Charleston, El Callao Latin Fusion.
However, the menu consists mainly of burgers and steak dishes. To start this failed food adventure, they brought us literally a 'quarter-cup' of plantain chips for 3 men as a free appetizer, we didn't know what to say, very funny, epic failure...
Let's continue...The Picada strip steak was tough and the sausage was average; definitely not worth $38. The burgers were good but overpriced for being just a burger. We also got the Burcaros Fries as a starter. It was just a plate of krinkle fries with some sauce and bacon bits, very basic and not worth $10. The service was very good, the only thing positive about this place unfortunately.
Very disappointing, we were hoping they would bring a new food vibe to the area but they failed. You can get the same food at several neighboring restaurants in Park Circle with a better price point...
