Had a chance to try Basil during restaurant week 2024. Starting with the fried wontons (not pictured I forgot to grab a picture before I devoured them) very nice, different in taste because they’re not crab but not different in a bad way. Good portion app with about 8-10 served in it. The Pad Thai and Pad See Eu were both great dishes and very flavorful. With good portion sizes. I had the Pad Thai medium and felt as if it could’ve easily been a mild so the server was gracefully able to provide additional spice (garlic chili paste) so feel on the safe side ordering knowing the spice level will not be overbearing. For dessert I had the Raspberry Cheesecake which was amazingly light and soft, not dense at all it was a dream to finish the meal with. The mixed drink was the Creamy Lemon Cake which was very delicious and almost felt like a dessert in of itself. It had an actual lemon cake aftertaste with little to no alcohol taste during or after the drink. Our server was incredibly kind, happy to serve, and had a bubbly welcoming personality. Safe to say I will definitely be back here for more.

Everything was good, food was nice service was great and atmosphere was great also. But there is a art of one of Hinduism God name Ram and Hanuman which I found place outside the restroom. Placing a god portrait is disrespectful and a disgusting thing to do. I told the owner to remove that art peace from near the restroom and place it anywhere near the entrance or dining area so, but owner said we will do it soon. I was like you should do it right now! It was disrespectful and I was really heartbroken by the shameful act they did. A god portrait or image shouldn’t be near restroom, it should be placed anywhere in a clean and safe place. No matter what religion it is all religion and culture should be respected, and that is what I not found here. Sorry but I felt disgusted. I had attached the image of God Hanuman and Ram so you can also verify on google. It’s a Thai art of god Hanuman and Ram.

First problem: I ordered food in the middle of December, 2022 and found a long piece of hair in my rice. They gave me a partial refund. I was disgusted, but let it go. Second problem: I ordered food to go on January 4th, 2023. After eating half of my food, I bit something hard and chipped my tooth. I looked to see what it was that did it and I found a small rock/pebble. I called the restaurant, reached their voicemail and left a message explaining the issue with my contact information. My girlfriend also called and left a message. Today is 1/22 and I haven’t heard anything back. I tried to handle this through the restaurant directly, but I guess I have to use other methods now to get a resolution.

Me and my family were just treated horribly at this Basil location. I’ve eaten at both the Mt P and downtown locations and I’ve never been made to feel like the people working there did not want me and my family there.

We arrive and there’s an empty table that would accommodate my party, Iā€˜m told the table was being held for another party. Never mind when I called 15 min ago, I was told they don’t do reservations or call ahead seating. I was told its an hour wait or sit outside. Ok.

We (my wife and I with 3 kids) go to sit outside but are told we can’t sit at the table we are sitting at (right under the heaters) and we’re told to sit at one of the end tables, not exactly under the heaters. Ok, but no one comes to sit at that other table for another 15-20 min. Why did we have to move?

I ask for the high chair I see at a table not being used, but I’m told this high chair is not available and it’s for another party. At this point I’m like, are they here, and how do they get dibs on a high chair? Then I was told there are only two high chairs in the restaurant. My two year old sits in a regular chair. Ok.

My wife and I like to get the dishes prepared where the fried fish is not combined with the sauce and vegetables in the back, we want to do it ourselves so we preserve the crispness. we've asked for this before (here and other Asian restaurants) and usually it’s no problem. We are told the chef said he couldn’t do that because its too busy. Yeah, it’s 6pm Sat night, but this isn’t a holiday or a special event/festival weekend. This is a regular Saturday night in North Charleston. Being busy didn’t seem like a valid reason for this request to be denied, but again, Ok.

Kids food was ordered with apps and soup. Apps came out fine and the kids food and soup is taking a long time so we politely ask for an eta, our waitress says she doesn’t know how long it’s gonna take and she can’t say. I eat out A LOT, most people say, let me go check if they don’t know. Or give some time range, I would have been fine with that, but we were basically told there was no way to let us know how long it would take because again, it’s a busy Sat night and then, in her most nice-nastiest voice she could push out between her cliched teeth and fake smile, the waitress OFFERED the manager to me to speak to further about my questions. I’m always measured and calm when I talk ( especially talking to people handling my food) and I made no request for, and gave no indication I needed a manager. This waitress obviously did not want to serve my family and I, and she knew she could treat my family and I this way, because when I explained my experience to the manager, he just said oh, ok. No empathy or concern for how we were treated. He obviously didn’t want us there either.

As busy at it was that night, they sure had that check ready fast. They just didn’t want us there. So we obliged. We won’t be going back to any Basil location. No red curry fish is worth having your family be mistreated for no reason. We expect the same quality dining experience as every other paying customer. Nothing more and absolutely...

Horrifying experience. My family and I have eaten at Basil downtown and Mt. Pleasant locations on many occasions at peak hours and non peak hours. Last night we had the worse experience at the Basil in North Charleston and we will no longer eat at ANY Basil establishments. Our waitress was the nastiest and rudest waiter I have ever encountered. From not checking to see if a high chair was available for my 2 y.o. and several occasions telling me that because it was a Saturday night and they were so busy I could not have Ordered certain dishes on the menu. It was 6pm on a regular Saturday with no wait time to be seated. When I asked to check on my 3 kids dishes she told me again it’s Saturday and busy so I don’t know when your food will be ready. I kindly asked if she could check with the kitchen for a time estimate and she reiterated due to it being busy Saturday night they were unable to give out time Estimates. Horrible customer service! She made it clear from the moment we sat down my family and I were not welcome! When my husband asked for further Clarification on why we couldn’t know the details of food readiness. The very rude waitress snapped at us and said I will get my manager. My 2 young daughters asked me why was she being so mean. This even further upset me so at this point that they felt her meanness. When the manager arrived to our table my husband explained what happened and the manager did not care! He didn’t apologize nor did he even try to ask on status of food. At this point it was extremely clear we weren’t welcome. So we paid for our appetizers and left. As we refused to have our family subjected to the rudeness.

This whole event made me feel the environment at this restaurant is bias to certain looking customers. I am extremely...

I want whoever in management to read this feedback because this is a consistent experience.

Basil Park Circle needs to improve its online service.

On February 7, 2025, I arrived to pick up a Doordash customer order at Basil Park Circle. I was notified before arrival that the order was ready.

I arrived at 8:22 pm at Basil Park Circle. Basil staff member, (very nice) told me the order wasn't ready.

I don't blame the staff and hostess for the Doordash order not being ready. I blame the management of Basil Park Circle.

I have been doing online deliveries for over 7 years. I can tell if a restaurant knows how to manage online orders and their dine-in customers in real time or not.

In the past, I have waited 30 - 40 minutes for an online orders.

But with this customer order, mentioned above, it was 30 minutes.

When Basil Park Circle gets busy with dine-in customers and Doordash customers, there will be a long wait period for Doordash orders (including any third-party delivery orders).

I understand that a restaurant needs to make a profit to be sustainable in its location.

But restaurants, (including Basil Park Circle), needs to understand that Doordash Customers and Ubereats customers blame the delivery driver if the order doesn't arrive on time, or blame the delivery driver if an item that is missing from the order, despise if the driver didn't tamper with the order.

I have asked Doordash to block me from receiving any orders from Basil...
