The food is fine, but whoever manages this location needs to have a serious talk with their teen/young adult staff. I know what it’s like to be a teen in a job you don’t care about, but if you’re going to let it show, working in customer service is not for you. There are jobs like grabbing shopping carts, or stocking shelves in which you have no contact with others. Whenever I come here, the dining area is always filthy, and there are always kids standing around doing nothing. They don’t greet you with a “hello, how are you”. Instead they look at you with dead eyes and say “ready to order?” As if to get you out of their hair as soon as possible. On one occasion, I noticed there were no paper towels in the bathroom. I told the staff. Went to wash my hands 20 minutes later - mind you there had been no other customers - and there were still no paper towels, but there was banter and laughing behind the counter. I hate to sound like an old woman, believe it or not, I’m in my twenties. It’s just ridiculous. I hate to sound discriminatory but honestly I’d rather deal with a computer than a kid who takes 0 pride in what they do....
Read moreAs much as I like Firehouse Subs, I just can't find a good reason to give this new location a positive review. I have been here 3 times so far and every single time my food was prepared incorrectly. The seating is not very convenient either. You may choose to sit outside, however, if you like the indoors and the few small tables are already occupied, you'll be sharing a long table with strangers.
Another issue is the speed...from clearing your payment until you get your food takes a long time; not being brutal here, only comparing their speed to the other Firehouse Subs that I have been to in Charleston area.
The first 2 times the order was input wrong. The last time, the order was entered correctly but it was prepared wrong.
My sincere suggestion would be to always repeat the order at the register and for the preparers to double-check to make sure you put together exactly what it says on...
Read moreThe food here was pretty good, however the service was very slow due to only 2 of the workers actually working. What appeared to be the shift manager spent most of the time while we were there soaking the mat in front of the drink machine. It seemed like he was trying to unclog the drain, and was successful in doing so. The issue was when he left the huge puddle of water there, with no Wet Floor sign and didn't even attempt to mop it up!! There was even another employee that filled up his drink and walked out!! The store owner should be extremely grateful no one slipped and fell, at least while we were there.....Wish we had read the other reviews before we...
