Yummy Yummy — Restaurant in North Charleston

First, I want to start with the fact that we have eaten at yummy yummy for 6 years. It quickly turned into the ONLY Chinese restaurant we get take out from.

Unfortunately, tonight they have lost our loyalty.

We ordered $70 worth of food, picked it up on the way home from work. As our 3 children are eating their pork fried rice, egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken....they ALL start pulling little black hairs out of their mouths.

Naturally, I'm like "did you guys wash ya hands?" because this place would surely never serve something with that many hairs.

Then I take a few bites...and I start pulling out MULTIPLE little hairs from my mouth.

I call the restaurant- it's rush hour on a Friday night and we live 15 minutes away.

They refuse to refund us unless we bring the food back in. First off, I have divided this food out on plates. Some was eaten before the hairs started showing up. I let them know if we don't get a refund for the 3 items with the hair, we will take our business elsewhere.

They call back and repeat the same thing. So I do as well.

Food out is too expensive right now to risk eating somewhere that wants you to drive 20 mins back to prove to them , THEIR mistake.

Will just have to dispute the charge with our credit card company.

So sad they have this type of...

To be fair - I cannot rate the food as I did not get to order…. I walked in today, to order lunch, and was met with an EXTREME mess on the countertops/bar area…. Clothes, jackets, cardboard boxes and junk were on every visible surface except for the tables intended for dine-in. There did not appear to be a sushi bar (I was there for sushi) - maybe it was under all of the mess/junk? Also, it appears that there was only one person working (waitress + chef?). I am aware of staffing shortages so this part did not bother me, until I waited and waited without even being greeted (yes, she could see me bc the curtain was open between the kitchen and the bar area). It was not until I got to the door, about to leave the building, when she finally said “Hello” at that point, especially after seeing the terrible mess everywhere, I was not interested in ordering food. I am fairly certain that if the fire marshal had come to evaluate this establishment today, Yummy Yummy would have been shut down - it was that messy and cluttered with excessive junk…. No telling what kind of critters could be hiding in that mess. Do not recommend - not even...

Absolutely horrible! ! I prepaid for my order online with delivery. ...they delivered the order all wrong...the special diet was NO vegetables. ...there were vegetables. ...every where. ...I asked for ranch dressing for salad.,,I got ginger....my soup was salty water and the hibachi was absolutely nasty ......drenched in some horrible brown stuff that tasted like water that had soaked in a burned pan. I called and the lady was defensive and hostile sounding. I just agreed with her on what ever she was saying. She was so offensive I just quit listening and said thank you. I agree with the salt water soup comment. As for the restaurant not being usually crowded comment, I'm sure everyone else in the neighborhood has already experienced the horrible taste of their food and opt to eat from other restaurants in the...
