As much as I love Papa John's Pizza I had such a terrible experience ordering here recently for my son's birthday party. I placed the order hours ahead of time, and ask for it to be delivered at 5:45. I called around 6:10 and asked if it was almost here. The pizza delivery arrived about 40 minutes behind my requested time (even though I did order as soon as the place opened up). I explained to the delivery driver I was not happy but she was defensive and said it was a "busy night". So as a customer of your business what should i the customer do differently in order to receive pizza around a certain time frame for a birthday party? As she drove off I realized we received half the order. Ughhh So I immediatly called and asked to talk to a manager. After speaking with someone - I was told "it was a busy night" which again is not a customer problem, I expected a Friday night to be busy that's why I place my order really early. Hours ahead of time... And then I find out my order was put in wrong. I didn't receive the two cheese pizzas (which every parent knows is the first thing you order for a child's birthday party). At this point in time it was almost an hour later than I had originally plan on feeding everybody. Cake and ice cream was done. I asked the manager how they were going to make this right: like send the cheese pizzas immediately out so my guest can you have food. She said "I'm not doing that ma'am" and I explained calmly, as a customer I did what I was supposed to do, which was order my food greatly ahead of time, my receipt said I was the third order placed that day. Don't accept so many orders if you can't keep up. What should a customer do in order to receive her full order at a reasonable timeframe. I had asked for a certain time for it to be delivered and it was almost 45 minutes late. Not to mention it wasn't even the full order. The woman who I was speaking with must have figured out I was about the point of righting the wrongs and given me to somebody with more authority. That woman on the phone was much more business like, actually said sorry for being 40 minutes behind schedule for morning pre order delivery, and sent my pizzas for the guests. Done. ✔ Overall the pizza is fine, but their time management and customer service is obviously not. Also I wasted a bunch of time on the phone trying to correct their mistakes and get my order which was when I decided I was going to leave a...
Read moreThe morning shift here is awesome but something is really off about night shift. 🥴I recently had an unfortunate experience during the night shift at your location. As a DoorDash driver, I rely on efficient service to ensure timely deliveries. When I arrived to pick up an order, the employee at the front counter seemed to have difficulty seeing and hearing clearly. Despite providing the customer's name, she mentioned a different name and declined my offer to show her my phone for verification.
After waiting in the lobby for about 15 minutes, she asked for the customer’s name again and finally requested to see my phone. It was then confirmed by her co-workers that the order had already been picked up. This miscommunication resulted in a significant waste of my time, as I could have been completing other deliveries.
While the employee did apologize after I called to express my concerns, it felt insincere and only prompted by my complaint. This experience highlighted a lack of professionalism and attentiveness, which is critical in customer service roles. Additionally, the behavior of the other employees, who were staring as if to intimidate (but they didn’t intimidate) , was unprofessional and uncomfortable.
I believe that with proper training and a focus on customer service, these issues can be resolved. It is essential for employees to verify order details promptly and accurately to avoid such inconveniences. I hope that steps will be taken to ensure that staff are better trained to handle such situations effectively...
Read moreI'm writing this as I just wrote a bad review for Dominoes. This has been the worst night to order pizza I guess!
I called Papa Johns at 6:55 pm to place an order for delivery. Not only was the female associate who took the order rude, but she kept cutting me off while I was in the middle of ordering. She spoke to me as if I was inconveniencing her with my order and that she had to make the pizza from scratch from her home kitchen. at 8:22 pm after my movie ended, I called them for a status update on my delivery. I was immediately passed on to a manager, who told me the delivery man called, got no answer, so left. What I don't understand is why would he call and not just DELIVER the pizza? Did he think that me not answering meant he I wasn't home and he didn't have to get out of his car into the rain and walk to my third level apartment to deliver the pizza?
When the manager told me this, I asked for the number the delivery man called because I received no phone. Just as I suspected, it was the wrong number. The manager told me an 843 number, but my number has an 803 area code. I know I didn't give the lady the wrong number because I haven't had an 843 number in 11 years. Because the first person I spoke to was so rude and kept cutting me off, she assumed she knew everything to include my number, so I never got my food.
Never ordering pizza from North Charleston again. I'll wait until I move to...
