Update. 5/1/25.
Ate there last night. It was a Wednesday. Place was busy. Sat at the bar and the bartender was taking orders, making drinks, and serving all the customers at the bar...AND making drinks for the ENTIRE RESTAURANT. He was drowning. I ordered the Carnitas Dinner. Ok, hear me out. Pork is sooooo cheap. With carnitas you get a big cheap cut and just slow cook it till it falls apart, then deep fry it. When you go to a small taqueria, ones that its rare to see white people, you get a bunch of carnitas. I did not get a bunch of carnitas. It was such a small portion you could see the white plate thru the meat. It also didn't come with fried onions, or tortillas...even though it said it came with them on the menu. I was asked by the bartender how everything was, and told him. He replied, "oh." Ok...later I saw the manager running around looking stressed and let him know about the menu saying the carnitas come with onions and tortillas and I swear to god he said, " I don't know..." I said it was fine. I was just letting him know so they could 86 the item if they ran out of carnitas or onions or tortillas, but he just didn't know. Ok...it was just a strange experience. I am rallying for this restaurant to do well, and it surprises me why customer service and making sure menu items were exceptional. Especially at this crucial time when the community is 'checking them out'. I am sure they will get their footing and work the kinks out. The food and drinks are tremendous. I just wish they didn't skimp on portions, ask to refill my margarita, give me all the items I payed for from the menu, corrected incorrect plating, and didn't answer with "huh", "oh", and ,"I DON'T KNOW". If you don't know, thats fine...find out and fix it.
Thank god woodys is gone. Their food was an insult to our town and an afront to Mexican culture/cuisine....
Read moreSo ordered food to go on 6/19/25. Wanted 3 orders of Arroz con Pollo and 1 order of chicken chimichangas. Before I went to pick it up I thought that the price I'd been told was too little for the order, so I called back. They only had 1 order of the Arroz con Pollo. So they added the 2 more, totalling $73 for the entire order. Got the order and 2 of the Arroz con Pollo orders were really small, still able to see the metal bottom of the tin, small. And I found 2 pieces of shrimp in mine. I don't have a seafood allergy, but that could be a problem for someone who does. The food tasted fine, except the 2 bags of chips were also stale 🫤. The price was a lot for what we got. I likely won't order from there again. Photos: you can see the bottom tin of Arroz con Pollo looks to be half the order of the top one (two were of that smaller size), and you can see one of the shrimp pieces from mine. Disappointed.
Post Review: So the owner emailed with me wanting to make the experience my family has with the takeout food right. He said he would replace the 2 subpar meals for free. So tonight I ordered takeout again. I went in and spoke with Diego about the experience back in June. They really wanted us to come for a meal in the restaurant but that wasn't currently able to happen. The food was great, the chips were fresh, the quantities were good. We also got 2 more meals and some guacamole. So I will say that this local, family-owned restaurant has redeemed itself in my eyes. Anyone can have an off day, but they strove to make it right. And that will keep me...
Read moreThe birria quesadillas were 3 for 22 and I was really happy with that. The waiter was really nice but she charged me a 70 dollar water… when she asked for our drinks I said water and then she asked me if I wanted bottle, sparkly, or tap. I said a bottle of water please but she came out with a glass bottle trying to poor my drink for me 😭. I knew I was cooked. I looked for the water on the menu didn’t see a 70 dollar water. I talked to the manager and he let me “slide” this time. First of all they weren’t rude or mean but the way the manager treated me was really weird. You can tell he was mad at me for it like it was my fault? He’s here telling me that steak and main does it to as well as woodies. Sir the waiter never mentioned that the “bottle of water” was 70 dollars???? If the restaurant is reading this train your staff correctly please especially that manager!!! The waiter was still respectful after everything which I loved. In the end I think they added an extra 0 to the price on accident. How is my water over 3x the price of my food 😂. Go eat there just ask for tap...
