If I could give zero stars, I would. Our server was nice but clearly untrained. We didn't get the specials read. We ordered Calamari as an appetizer immediately with our drink at 7:12 pm. At 7:25 pm we placed our main meals orders, we basically ordered a la cart oysters 3 different kids, 4 sushi rolls and tuna avocado salad. 7:45 pm no Calamari, we get drink refills with the promise it was coming. 8:00 pm we call our server over and asked what was going on and we were told that the kitchen likes all the food to come out together. Meanwhile 4 tables that came in after us but with a different server, had their food spaced out just fine and was eating. We left a $20 on the table to cover the drinks and her getting them for us. We will never be back, all of Cecil shuts down at 9 on Sunday. We ended up at North East Family Restaurant at 8:20pm. They didn't even make us feel bad, about coming in so late. Update: Here are pictures of the menu. Please explain to me or at least tell me what page I am missing, where it states calamari must come with the sushi? They are 2 separate menus. As for the queen of exaggeration comment. Your comeback remarks to defend yourself are vague and silly. All you say is you watched the camera. I find it hard to believe that your cameras can detail it down to every table as you make it appear. If so that's impressive. So tell me, what all did you see us do? Prior to us ordering? We had several interactions with the host and server. If it is so detailed, are you sure you got the right couple? Where was our table located within your restaurant?

**Lunch Review** Overall: Outside of it being confusing to figure out which door to come in thru, the service and food was great. We came to have lunch around eleven thirty on a Sunday. There were plenty of people already here and it looked like everyone was enjoying their time here. Parking is mostly street parking and can be rough to get, but it's such a nice main street, walking a bit wasn't a problem. Food: My partner and I both got some Oysters to try which we both enjoyed very much. Then they got the crab and asparagus soup (second best option after the Oysters they got). My Oysters and pitbeef sandwhich were also very good and I have nothing to complain about any of it. It didn't take long for the Oysters to come out and then our main food was maybe five to ten minutes behind the Oysters. Plenty of food to eat. Service: Our waitress was very nice and attentive of our needs. No need to call out for help, she showed up on a regular bases to take care of our needs, but not showing up so much that she was bothering us. Very pleased with the staff. Atmosphere: It's very comfortable and feels a bit like home. You know that the food is going to be more costly here with the esthetic, but at the same time your just greeted with warmth and calming atmosphere making it easy to get lost in conversation while out to eat here. Defiently would come back if back up here.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. Beautiful on the inside, although with a strange and claustrophobic traffic pattern since there is no hostess stand in the front of the restaurant entrance. I had read about the hype and decided to make the 30-minute trek from my house. We booked reservations and came in on Valentine's Day where I was glad to find an open menu, as some restaurants limit their selections. I ordered a cup of French Onion Soup, a spicy tuna sweetheart roll and the enormous 2 lb Tomahawk ribeye steak with a loaded baked potato. My wife ordered the chicken curry soup with a Filet Mignon. The Tomahawk steak was divine and cut like butter with a knife - extremely flavorful and tasty. Sushi was also fantastic and not a single piece had any chewiness in the tuna. My wife's filet was a bit fatty on one side, which we didn't know was possible, but we soldiered on. Her dessert, a caramel lava cake, made the hair on your arms stand up it was that good. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and a credit to the restaurant. If ever you have reason to visit North East, this is the only place you need to stop.

Been at Steak and Maine a few times since the last bad review and both times were very solid. We once again tonight, and had two dinners which were great plus another dinner which was a special pork dish that we got to go. Tit cut into it to have a slice and found it to be well done when we ordered it medium. The waitress part over the manager who was also the owner named Anthony who handled the situation extremely well. He had us take home the well-done portion to try it the next day just to see if it would reheat well and then made us another dish done properly.

Angelina who was our waitress was extremely helpful and provide a great service throughout the night Anthony could not have been more accommodating.

Highly recommend steak and Main to anyone visiting Northeast and even if you're not it's worth going there. The Black Angus meatloaf is completely amazing and certainly not something my mother could make it home and I strongly doubt others could either. Cheers to a great businessman and a great business

2024 Just had to change my five- story view from 2 years ago for unfortunate reasons. here a number of times over the years, and while the food has always been solid and has definitely remained that way, the service has gotten progressively worse to the point of abysmal. Couldn't even get a drink tonight at dinner,And it was clearly due to a combination of the waitress delaying the submission of orders but also to the bartenders standing around and talking.

When we sat down, the waitress poured glasses of water and then left for 15 minutes. When she did come back, she came to take our food order but I asked if we could get cocktails first since we were celebrating an anniversary. We ended up ordering drinks and appetizers at the same time, and 15 minutes later received our appetizers but no drinks. The waitress indicated the bar was backed up however if she knew that it would have been nice to tell us when we first sat down and do what we wanted to drink 30 minutes

We were about halfway to 2/3 done with our first round of drinks when our dinners came out, so given the prior delay we had ordered another round right when dinner was served.

25 minutes later when we completed the dinners the drinks were still not delivered. I walked up to the bar as I was going out front for a moment and saw that she hadn't even made them yet but the waitress was standing there so I ended up just canceling and paying our bill prior to getting dessert which we had intended to do. Ended up having to go elsewhere for drinks and dessert.

By this time of night, the bar was 2/3 empty and there was simply no excuse for it yet one was provided anyway. Then, when the waitress brought the bill she was very boisterous about the fact that she took the drinks off the bill as if she should get a reward for that.

Give me the food is still very good I would consider getting takeout from here I'll be at some of the dishes including the steaks wouldn't be good cold at home, but I certainly wouldn't come here for a special occasion or you're bound to be...

Do not come here if you have a kid.

We made a reservation, for 3 people, and the host on the phone asked if we preferred dining room or bar. Since we had kiddo, we selected dining room. As others have mentioned, there is no kids menu (but this is so remarkable that we didn't think to ask). There are loads of places that do not have kids menu on their website, and we figured that was the case here. Its very easy to keep a bag of chicken tenders in the freezer for these situations.

My wife had my son's water bottle in her purse, and the host looked at us and said "If I knew you had kids, I would have told you to sit in the bar. Also, you can't bring in outside food or drink". Understandable, for sure, but it was my son's water bottle. Its just a thing my wife carries around, not an attempt to circumvent their strict policy. We sat down with this, frankly, ridiculously bad welcome. I asked about the kids menu, and the server said that they don't have one. I asked about the bar menu (since allegedly it has more kid-friendly food on it: it doesn't). I was told, like others, that I couldn't order off of it, and in fact, "We don't have French fries because people's kids would run around."

At some point, someone is going to tell the owners of "Steak and Main" that one of the sides that is classically paired with steak is French fries (in fact, the French have a whole dish about it!).

Drink prices were fine, pours were fine. Bread was good, and Bananas Foster cream cheese was really great with the raisin walnut bread. The Shrimp Lejoin was good. The Caesar dressing was a bit on the sour side for my taste, but my wife didn't mind.

The tomahawk ribeye was mid. Despite being the most expensive steak on their menu, there were several issues. It was not plated artfully, just put on the plate. The fat was not evenly cooked (I ordered medium), and remained white and chewy towards the bone. The cut was not properly done, and by the time it reached the table, the spinalis dorsi had separated completely from the longissimus, and was seriously overdone.

My wife got the Delmonico, and while the cook was more reasonable, the gravy overpowered the steak (which may have been the intention). The loaded baked potato was bland. The "Big Fat Carrot Cake" was good.

The price wasn't insane, but the food wasn't that great. If you have an attitude and strong convictions, it is incumbent on you to make sure that people know that when making reservations. It is very easy to say "If you have not dined with us before, our menu is not geared towards kids, and we do not have high chairs or boosters". That is enough of a sentence to say "If you have kids, you are not welcome." As a parent, I can take that hint. I was not given the courtesy, so the attitude caught me off guard.

Even without my son, I won't be back. There are better restaurants with fewer rules...

We have seen our friends post about this place as being a hit or miss and being we were in downtown NE for the day and I was craving steak, we figured we would give it a shot. I will say we have never felt so unwelcomed. At first we thought it was just maybe me over thinking but truly I felt the staff is scared instead of respect their boss which makes it worse. 1st we asked if we could sit outside. After the waitress went outside and came back in she stated there were none available. We were confused and then she explained they are not allowed to sit 2 people at a 4 table sitting. OK fine, whatever. ( I assume because 2 people never spend more then 4 people) but lets move it along. We were sat directly behind the Hostess area. Within a few minutes the one hostess asked my husband to hide/put away his water bottle because the owner doesn't appreciate that. OK fine, then offer us water. (My husband has medical condition that keeps him thirsty at all times which he always has water with him, but fine again). A few moments later the hostess asked my husband to turn his hat around, again the owner doesn't allow it. (She should have asked when we came in for him to turn it around. We were a little confused as I sure did not see any "dress code signs" and we were dressed fairly decent, jeans and tops and had been out riding. Better then some with their tank tops but again, moving along. My husband was stuck between 2 items just as I was. The waitress was very nice but seemed as she wanted our order but we asked her to come back. In the mean time more people started to come in and I felt so crammed. As people would walk between us and the bar patrons it felt they were hovering over our table, which would be food on the table shortly. I told my husband I wanted to leave and felt confined. Normally he is the one who will say something. I told him let's pay for our drinks (pepsi) and leave. The waitress said she didn't charge us yet so we gave her a tip and left.

I understand not rating their food doesn't help however when you walk into an establishment and the above are things you experience but you continue to try because you want to judge for yourself but can't, makes you wonder. *By seeing the owners responses on others comments I can tell it does not bother him when people rate bad because it's their faults. Sadly I felt we were singled out from the time we hit the door and really wish they would have addressed everything from the start. I wonder if the owner would have treated us differently if my husband had one of his Veteran hats on and disability visible. I hope all future perspective customers have a better experience...
