I really do love the atmosphere here at the iron district and what this little area has to offer in such a small space. Hate to say this & I really hate to leave a review that is not the best. This is the 2nd time my girlfriend & I have eaten here. Love the idea, love the Passion behind the food. Getting a groupon for this place would be the only way I would try it again. BUT, the absolute complete overuse of salt in all the dishes literally makes me not want to try a third time. I am mainly pescatarian and absolutely love vegan/vegetarian food but not when the main thing i think about is injesting an entire days worth of salt on one meal. I wish i could say that was the only issue I encounted with this place, but sadly it was not. Dont het me wrong, the food had nice flavors, just too much salt. The complete and total lack of communication/letting us know when the food was ready, was horrible. We literally sat there for at least 30 minutes waiting for our food, at least. We just thought maybe with the 3 PEOPLE that were also there, they might be backed up with orders. They had our #, never got a message and we were sitting right outside. I have an idea, how about when the foods still fresh and at least somewhat warm, let people know its ready, please. The food we received was literally ice cold. We had to go up to the window finally and ask for our food, which obviously had been sitting there for AWHILE. I could understand if it was even slightly busy, but it wasnt. I know you are a small business trying to make it, and your not even open all year because of the seasons, but come on, try alittle harder to care from start to finish.....that's all I'm asking, please

This place is in like an outdoor box yard. It looks pretty neat but definitely keep the weather in mind. The burger itself was fantastic, exactly what I was looking for! The gluten free “bun” is two slices of gluten free bread and it costs an extra $3 which isn’t great but I get it. Even though they offer gluten free options they couldn’t tell us whether or not the fries were gluten free which was pretty disappointing. The “cheese” sauce for the cheese fries is pretty good but it tastes more like gravy than cheese IMO. The seasoning on the fries was unexpectedly spicy, but the worker acted like maybe they weren’t their usual fries? All in all if you’re looking for a traditional burger taste this is a good place to come but if you have a gluten allergy maybe call ahead and see about the fries if you care to try them

My wife and I were so excited to try Crave Burgers and Bakery in the Iron District in North KC (where Kind Food was). My wife is vegan and I eat meat. She got the district burger and fries. I got the Jalapeño burger with a GF bun. The vegan burgers were handmade. The district burger was chick pea based (we think) with a vegan smoked Gouda, burger sauce, onion ring, and pickles.) The jalapeño burger is black bean based with jalapeños and a vegan Monterey Jack cheese, pickles and caramelized onions. The Verdict: Amazing. Literally the best veggie burgers we’ve ever had. I’d even take this over a hamburger. Really. Fries were good too. So excited for a new vegan option in KC. Carnivores, go for it. Small, family owned and super friendly. I will be back here frequently.

Vegan Soul Food that Hits All the Right Notes: A Culinary Symphony of Flavor and Passion!

If you ever doubted that vegan cuisine could be soulful, prepare to be a convert. This place is a revelation, offering a culinary experience that isn’t just nutritious—it’s absolutely delicious.

🌱 Nutrient-Packed Delights Let’s start with the obvious: the food here is a nutritional powerhouse. From the vegan oysters to the tacos, every dish is designed to nourish both body and soul.

🦪 Vegan Oysters: A Showstopper My personal favorite, these vegan oysters, are nothing short of extraordinary. They capture the essence of soul food, without compromising on nutrition or flavor.

🌮 Taco About Amazing The vegan tacos here could easily go toe-to-toe with any traditional fare. Bursting with taste, they’re a testament to how satisfying plant-based dining can be.

💖 Fueled by Passion The heart and soul of this spot is its small business owner who’s living her dream with unparalleled passion. The result? A menu that doesn’t just feed you; it nourishes you.

🗺️ Worth the Journey We came from a considerable distance to dine here and let me tell you, every mile was worth it. The cuisine left us nothing short of blown away.

In a world where fast food is the norm, this place stands as a bastion of what good, soulful cooking should be. Not only will your taste buds thank you, but so will...

Saturday evening at 530 I walked up to the window. Looking at the menu, I didn't see any burgers on it and asked if there was another menu. The lady sent me to the Iron Grill around the back. They don't serve vegan anything. Went back around and realized that the vegan burger part of this restaurant is short staffed and online order only. Also they were all black bean burgers and the online menu options were very limited or not being served at all. All the lights were off inside and we left. After reading the reviews I'm wondering how many of them are actually reviewing the Iron Grill and not realizing that restaurant isn't the right one and not vegan. We won't be back. So the next day I got a private response here from the owner saying my review is fake. No it's not. I reviewed with my daughter who was with me the details that I've written here and she said that I have not lied or embellished the details as the owner said privately to me. Also, I do believe if you look at some of the burger descriptions in some of your reviews that they are describing items that are not on your menu and are on the menu at the Iron Grill. Turns out that the response I received wasn't private. It just took a couple of days to update in the app. Feel...
