Honestly Sk8t Shot studios was one of the best things to happen to me bc I was kinda antisocial and super awkward. I started going here around the time they first opened and was really excited to learn how to be a better skater buttt I didn’t want to feel the judgement and pressure of not being good on skates. For me as a beginner, KJ and Adontis (among other instructors) were so friendly, helpful, and overall a good vibe. I would always look forward to their classes and open floor times. I got to meet so many people and learn fun moves, cool tricks and even get in a little workout. KJ would often ask us students what he could do to improve as an instructor so that he could help us more effectively. But most of all it really is a judge-free learning zone for everyone at any level. The music would be poppin and there were times where I’d get frustrated at not being able to do something but everyone was supportive and encouraging. Additionally I love their merch, it’s unique and stylish- I found out Adontis was the main designer and creator. Unfortunately I’m moving out of state but I’m so glad I got to experience KC’s 1st skate studio!! I’ll definitely be back whenever...

I signed up for SK8 SHOT Studios almost as soon as I heard about it, and it turned out to be so much better than anything I was expecting. I had just started roller-skating at the beginning of 2023, but by the end of the year I was more confident and felt like I was ready for more advanced maneuvers. The only problem was, I didn’t know where to seek advice for skating other than the internet and in my opinion having an in person coach is more valuable than almost any video you could possibly watch. Luckily, I heard Adontis and KJ were opening a roller-skating studio, the first roller-skating studio in KC in fact. I excitedly sought them out and have since been getting advice directly from them at SK8 SHOT Studios. If you feel like you need advice, whether you’re beginner or more advanced, no matter your skate level, seek them out and you won’t be disappointed. I'm on a healing journey after losing my 21 year old daughter last year. Roller skating was becoming our thing and I've continued pushing forward with it every since then. I first saw Sk8 Shot Studios on Instagram & YouTube and tried the Beginner/ Intermediate fundamental videos which helped me get thru a plateau with doing pivot turns.

I then decided to take a trip to Kansas City for a skate lesson and glad I did. KJ and Adontis are attentive instructors who watch and help to correct in real time. The studio is spacious enough for the class size and drills. I really liked how they incorporate a stretch warm-up into the lesson and then build up the drills to a quick routine. I left with a new drill to work into my routine.

I'm taking lessons locally but will return at some point in the near future to continue growing my skate abilities.
