I’ve been coming here for years. Truth be told their pizza is hit or miss. You want the man at the register, the woman with the blue hair and pizza is not as good. That would normally earn them a solid 3-4 stars though, depending on their service. Overall, I’ve gone to them because they are a small business Id like to support and they have a great special. Carry out 16 inch for 10.99. Now I’ve been ordering this for years, I know how specials can hit a small business so I always pay cash and always tip a few bucks when I get it. Today, the price came out to regular price, and I thought “ok they finally killed the special, I guess I’ll deal with it”. So I paid, sat down (and after the quoted 20 mins, the woman said the pizza just went in…ok bad service #1, but I can deal with that). So I’m waiting for my pizza to be done 10 minutes late, and I notice the carry out special, advertised above their register just like normal. So I ask her why I didn’t get that and she said “because you didn’t say “carry out special”. What?? When I’ve been ordering the carry out special for years and they have my history in their system? Really? Ok so I ask her if I can get the correct pricing and she says no because I already paid. Say what??? Then goes on to say they don’t make any money with the carry out special. So I tell her to return the order, which she manages to bumble through. A few very annoying things: first I KNOW they make money on that special because I am in the business and know what costs run. Second, if you can refund an order you can refund and re-ring it. They just lost a long term customer. I guess I’m writing this for 2 reasons: number 1…if you don’t care about principals and just want a good deal on pizza (and I understand if you do) be sure to order the CARRYOUT SPECIAL and say it on the phone. And 2…you should know that they have no problem lying and scamming their customers so that you should never feel guilty about taking advantage of whatever special they are offering. They will never get another dime out of me though. Too bad. I’m now waiting for my pizza from a larger (but still smallish) chain 2 miles away. No problem with their specials.
Revising the stars after not seeing the girl with the blue hair anymore, I just say carryout special and the pizza has been fantastic the...
Read moreI am a Philadelphian transplanted in Las Vegas due to military service. I had been searching for a decent pizza for years. Then I stumbled upon DeLucia’s PIZZERIA at the corner of Losee and Centennial w/i the Smith’s Shopping Center complex. Surprised I was. So far, it is the closest to a Philly like NY like pizza I have come across in the valley. I was especially surprised given the nature of the water out here. Somehow, the pizza dough is bakery-like and the sauce has a good taste and smell to it. The Cheese is plentiful and fresh. Many varieties of pizza are available or build your own. If you want a fresh pizza, it takes time to cook. If you want a pizza quick, then just buy from Smith’s a frozen pizza and enjoy your cardboard. DeLuccia’s salads are delicious, and again, you can make your own and the garlic knots we fight over. Rolls here are a problem too bc of the water, but I have ordered several cheesesteaks w/fried onions and it was good unlike Jersey’s Mike’s and others which pack their sandwiches with cheap iceberg lettuce and charge an arm and a leg. Long story short, Delucci’s has a East Coat sauce recipe, dough making procedure, and fresh mozza (ingredients) that make a good pie, delicious crust. And, leftovers heat up nicely bc of fresh ingredients. Want it fast…you get fast (cardboard). Want a bakery crust delicious pizza give DeLuccia’s a try bc everything on the menu is made fresh...
Read moreNot very good. I placed an order and it wasn't ready until 2 hours later cause they were very busy the online app said. The pizza wasn't very hot when it as delivered to my house and the Fettuccine alfredo taste like something I can make at home with the jarred classico sauce, not good at all. Will not order again, was very disappointed with the whole thing. But gave it 3 stars cause the place was good the last time I ordered there for pickup, the pizza was actually good.Must have a new chef or management is not doing their job well.Food at a place should be consistent. Anyway I'm not going to try it again, it was a waste of my money.
My Response back to DeLucias :
