My coupon wasnt workingthrough the app. So I called the store and asked to place an order for pick up. The Male who answered stated they don't take orders over the phone. So I placed the order on my labtop instead thinking it might've been a glitch using my cellphone. I put the coupon number in and checked out. I noticed the coupon didn't go through. So upon arriving to the restaurant I told the cashier what happened and she said wait one second, and she went to the back to the back to get her manager. I explained to him what happened. He started to say sorry we dont accept coupons on the app or online orders. I then stated it doesn't say that on the coupon. He then looked up my order and said we dont have your order in our system. He then turned the screen to me to show me. I said I know ordered it here. Unfortunately I didnt have my cellphone at the time to show I did it for that restaurant. So I headed back home to get it, and looked at the email. It was indeed for that restaurant. I headed back and asked for him once more. He came up and I showed him my email confirmation for that specific location. He then checked the system again, I said here's the confirmation number can I please just have the order refunded and charge me for the same thing so I can utilize my coupon for 10$ off the 16 piece family meal. He said no I can't. It doesn't work that way. I stated to him I worked fast food back in the day. So I know you can do it. He then began saying again how they dont accept coupons on online orders I said I get that and started getting upset because I'm 30 min in trying to get my foodusingy coupon and instead of helping me out he just kept stating it's not his fault the coupon doesn't say that it doesn't work with the app or online orders. He kept repeating that as I kept asking him if he could just refund the order and rering it up there in the store so I can use my coupon. This went back and forth so I pulled out my phone and began to record so I had proof for corporate. He asked me to stop recording I said not this will be going to corporate because you are being extremely unprofessional as a manager. He then got even more upset went to get his phone after I put mine away. He then startes to record me sayin you're going to be all over twitter. Very unprofessional. I then said for what trying to use my coupon and your being extremely rude and unprofessional. I explained look on just trying to get this food to my family and use the coupon i don't need any of this. He then asked for my comfirmation number to talk to whoever to see if the can see my order. I asked how long more will this take because I shouldve had this food well.over 30 minutes ago. He just kept walking and started.talkimg to one of the front workers. I told him can you go check on that instead of talking to your employees. He then stated your food is right here and handed me my food. Angry I said look at that its finally in your system huh. I asked.for some condiments and he said ask them and pointed to his coworkers. I said wow your really not going to get me the condiments. He said no go ask them. Super unprofessional. I asked for his name because I was going to contact corporate for being so unprofessional. His name is Roberto. He really needs to be retrained, and learn to be an example for his coworkers. Read moreFirst time trying El Pollo Loco (I know). Just left the drive thru from getting lunch at this location and the girl there working at the window was rude. For starters, I asked if there were any other drinks that were available or on the menu besides fountain drinks and the guy on the other end said "the drinks should be on the menu." Usually the right the answer to say to a customer would be 'no, but we have such and such', but that wasn't the case. Instead he treated us like we're stupid, like we should just know their menu like we aren't customers. But we ordered what we wanted which was two double chicken bowls and two large drinks. When we got to the window, and paid everything, they didn't give us the rest of our order and also gave us the wrong drink size. The order is supposed to come with a tortilla and it didn't. We asked for the rest the order and said we ordered a large instead of a regular. The girl said at the window "she wants a large", like WE didn't order it in the first place. Everything about her was rude and when they gave us our correct order, my boyfriend said thank you and she just closed the window without saying anything back. She gave the worst customer service. If she's like that, she should just get a new job not dealing with people, the guy included, there are plenty of people who are looking for jobs who are actually willing to do it right and better. These were our salads double chicken avocado.not double chicken which was very hard and the sour cream was chunky, the Pico was sour and smelled spoiled, the salad dressing is very watery and tast of watery mess. And take a look at that avocado it was actually served to is just like. It was not the first time that I have gotten rotting food and I was very, very upset this time. This is not acceptable to serve. I went back to the restaurant to speak/scream at the manager on duty to allow this slop to be served to human beings. He, Alejandro said to me that he wouldn't eat the food that had been served to us. I asked to see the drive through worker and he said she was no longer there and this was served to us less than 3 minutes prior. I wanted to know why would he serve food to people in this community that is not suitable for him let alone human consumption. I will never ever eat at this El Pollo Loco again and I hate to be that way because it is in my community and I live supporting businesses in my community.
