Customer service: Greated immediately upon entering. Quick service when taking the order. Food delivered to our table as it became ready. The lady who brought the three bottles of salsa also explaned their content and level of "heat" or spiciness. She checked on us during the meal and asked "how is everything", and once we finished and walked out, although she had customers at the counter, she said "thank you and have a nice day"....great service! Food: Keeping in mind that there are 31 states in Mexico, the culinary differences between each one of them and the variety of those states were i have actually lived or visited, i will try to be as fair as possible. I ordered the chile relleno and chorizo taco. The chile relleno was not necessarily what i am used to. The cheese most commonly used for a chile relleno is much more different in consistency and flavor than the one they use here. The egg coating tasted a bit old, as if they had prepared them all at once, refrigerated them, and then re fried when ordered. It was not my favorite, but it was not bad. Served with the regular onion and cilantro companions. The chorizo taco.....well, as of today i am still wondering if that was chorizo, or if I was accidentally given "al pastor". For chorizo, it was extremely dry and in large "meat like" portions. It was seasoned perfectly but not in a chorizo kind of flavor, more again like dry al pastor flavor. Both tacos had the yellow corn tortilla and sticking to authentic tradition, yes they were slightly brushed with oil as they were placed on the grill. Presentation and portion receive a 4. Flavor and authenticity receive a 3, as I feel there is some room for improvement. Husband ordered the asada and barbacoa tacos. His feedback; "they were good". According to him the meat was tender and flavorfull. No tough or chewy pieces and seasoned just right. To share, he had also ordered the chicago style carne asada fries. Although I was only able to try a couple of bites of the fries, here is my impression: execution, presentation and portion get a 5. Volumes of yummines with the perfect amount of toppings, fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, crema and cheese. Fresh grilled carne asada nicely spread through the entire dish, and dressed in melted yellow chesse....wait what? Well to be fair folks, it does say: "chicago style" so lets keep that in mind. As one should expect, with a name like that, some dishes should be "fusion" style. The best part, to me at least, they use regular crinkle-cut sized fries, which to me, are better than the skinny shoestring type fries if you ate going to indulge in such type if dish. The total for all this food and 2 drinks came to $21dllrs and some change, considering the portion size, we felt it was comparable to other taco shops. Did we hate it? Absolutely not. Would we recommend it? Absolutely! we all have different taste buds, we have all experinced different cuisine, but it beats you going thru the drive thru and getting a semi frozen-cook-the-same-as-the-picture kinda meal if you are hungry and in a hurry. After all, the one constant and evident factor throughout the visit, the food and the over all experience was the level of commitment, care and pride that they provide for each customer. If in the area, would...
Read moreI have been wanting to try this place for at least 1 month. I had hoped that I had found another great place. I noticed that they had no opening time on their door for Monday thru Friday. I’ll guess and say 1000. I ordered a ground beef taco combination plate. I have never had Chicago style tacos. I think it translates to open face tacos that aren’t the easiest to eat and one third of the fillings end up on your plate. I just at what fell out with my fork. The tacos were hot , the beans and rice were barely warm and both were tasteless. The taco meat was in need of salt. While eating I looked around and noticed how much trash was on the floor and the glass doors covered in greasy fingerprints. The tacos were ok. I will tell you where I feel this place at ranks as compared to others in the area. Chicago style tacos reminds me of an expanded taco stand. It doesn’t strike me as a restaurant like Tony’s. Tony’s is always spotless and the food always fresh and well prepared. I will say Tony’s on Craig blvd is the best place to go followed by Rivas on Aliante , Chicago style tacos ranks 3rd and Roberto’s is last. Roberto’s is filthy and the food swims in grease. So back to Chicago style. When I was leaving there was only one more customer in the taco stand. There was no thank you, goodbye or anything said when I got up and proceeded for the door. Tony’s and Rivas always say thank you and good bye . What does that mean?im not sure but when the others say it it makes me feel that they appreciate my patronage. I will try this place one more time in a month just to see if it was a fluke. First impression wasn’t great. We will...
Read moreThis place is probably the worst taco spot I've had in Las Vegas. Bad service, dirty eat area, bland food, slow service and expensive for what it is. Everything could be over looked if the food was good. If you want bland food or an a bland food diet then this is the place for you lol. Ive never seen so many ingredients in carne asada fries just for them to be tasteless. The crema/sour cream had a watered down taste ...I dont mean runny that's normal...I mean like they actually used water to water it down. The guacamole was a brown/ green color....we all know that's what happens when its not fresh. The fries had no seasoning. They tasted like plain potatoes. The Carnes asada was plain..it had a plain meat taste. The side of red rice was pasty? Meaning the rice was over cooked it wasn't mushy because it was dry but just idk pasty :/ the al pastor tacos were ok. The one good thing they have going is they use yellow corn tortillas
