I work at the airport so I used to come here often on my lunch break. This place closes at 2pm, which means they take the last order at 1:45. If you arrive 1:46 God forbid, they chase you away, if you arrive at 1:40 the waitress (typically the older blond one) grumbles, dramatically looks at her watch then with an irritated tone tells you "alright sit wherever you want, you already know what you want?" with you still standing and without even giving you a menu.
Last Tuesday, 02/14/2023, nobody was flying because of the high winds so when I showed up at 1:15 the place was almost empty except for one party eating at one table and myself. After being greated the same fashion as above I ordered a coffee and an omelette which was served 10 minutes later along with the bill and the thoughtful recommendation "take your time honey, no rush!"... During the 10 minutes that I took to eat my omelette the waitress (the older blond one) kept walking back and forth nervously watching her watch and giving glances at my plate. Having finished the omelette at 1:35 I was sipping my coffee and the other party stood up and went to the register to pay their bill. At the same time the waitress rushed to my table, theatrically took the empty plate in front of me and said out loud with a pressing tone: "Are you ready to leave honey!?!" I theatrically looked at my half full mug of coffee, then looked at her while standing up and said "No, but Yes!" at which point she said "Oh you don't have to rush out!" F you and your 'honeys' you hypocrite bum B - I thought to myself then went to pay my bill without leaving any tip.
This is the last time I'm giving any business...

Like most "small airport cafe's", this one is a hidden gem! Many of the patrons appeared to be current or retired pilots, but all are welcome. The menu has all the standard fare at really great prices. The only negative was we accidentally sat in the "far end" of the restaurant. There are TWO unmarked stairways leading up to the cafe. So you can think you're "grabbing the first table" when, in fact, you're as far from the hostess/waitress station as you could be.
So, when you enter the airport, find the entrance closest to the front, next to the "dedication plaque" and beside the (usually empty) car-rental booths. Ignore the fact that there is absolutely no indication that the stairs lead anywhere, and go up to this lovely cafe.
Sit down and have some coffee, after you order your breakfast, get up and, if the weather is nice, go outside onto the observation deck to watch some take-offs/landings or just admire the views of Las Vegas and the mountains. If it's too hot, stay inside and look at all the model planes and historical photos. Either way, there is...
Read moreThis lil hole in the wall place is very pleasant place, the food was great I got the pilot breakfast I believe...they have seats next to windows where you can see airplanes take off and come in, the service was everything, they always attended us without us calling them, and the wait time to get our food was on point! They also give you a dessert after you eat (free of charge) I believe they had cupcakes and cookies, very very good too! The majority of people there were senior citizens and retired people but overall it didn't bother us one bit, as the atmosphere was amazing too, I highly recommend this place if you want a quick bite for brunch! The prices are just right! The very cool thing about this spot is that it is located in a building that belongs to the aircraft, its like a place where airplanes land and take off....it seems way out in a way but in a good way, and they have lots of small airplanes hung off the ceiling as decorations and lots of old school pictures of airplanes and pilots from way back!!! I loved it and I will...
