Okay, we decided to change up date night and try something we hadn't tried before but wanted to try a big chain restaurant. If you know us you know we love going to hole-in-the-wall places or small-town/locally owned restaurants but for some reason, my expectations were very low here but I just didn't realize how low it was going to be. We went on a Monday during the mid-day around 2:30, I know that it is not really "date night" but we have hectic work schedules so we get it in when we can. Anyways, Monday mid-day has it’s perks because it was only us and one other small 4-person group. Not busy at all! We walk in and the 4 person group is sitting waiting to be seated. As soon as we walk in we are informed it will be a 10 min wait. I was very confused but said okay and sat down thinking he just said that to say it. Maybe they needed to set up the table with silverware, I don't know. But no, we sat there for over 15 min and I have no idea why, absolutely no one was in there, and while we sat there the front desk guy continues his conversation with another 2 employees talking shit about another customer's tip. Very unsettling. Finally, we were sat by one of the 2 waitresses who was upset about the tip the last customer left for her. Great! So we sat in a booth that was in view of the bar. We ordered two beers for my man and water for me and the waitress just sat there waiting for us to order before going to get our drinks mind you first time here we wanted to look over the menu but we ordered an appetizer and somehow received our drinks and appetizer together and only one beer was served at a time which would have been fine if she was a bit faster. Ordered our food and as we sat and nibbled on the appetizer, I noticed a customer stumbled in and sat at the bar. He had obviously already been drinking which that's fine but when another young lady came in and sat at the bar and even though the man was obviously pretty drunk already continued to serve the man drinks and started hitting on the girl so much that she was on the other side of the bar and he got up to sit closer to her and she was obviously uncomfortable but I tried to leave it be and mind my own business. We received our food. My man ordered a burger medium rare and was surprised they asked him how he would like his burger cooked. Not a lot of places ask anymore. He loved that but it was brought out as a hockey puck and thank god there were tomatoes and Lettice at least because there wasn't any ketchup or anything. He probably wouldn't have been able to swallow it and I ordered the lobster, tale mac and cheese, and asparagus. Lobster Tale looked like half of it was missing but it was so overcooked and rubbery that it wouldn't soak up any butter. It was bad! too bad they didn't cook the asparagus with the lobster and the burger. They weren't cooked at all! The only thing good was the boxed mac and cheese. Finally received a second beer and my water filled right before we paid. As we headed to the front door something told me to walk past the bar. While we ate they continued to serve the man drink after drink and almost looked like he was friends with the bartender. It was so bad that the girl got up and was trying to leave at the same time we were leaving I noticed him getting up to follow her out and so did my man. So I went up to her and acted like I knew her to cut off the drunk guy and told her we would walk her out and that I wanted to talk to her about what happened with you know who while my man just kind of stood between us and him. Luckily it worked and she was so thankful. I just can't believe they were still serving that man more and more drinks. Not the best experience and won't...
Read moreThe food at Longhorns is always exceptional. However on this particular trip me and my out of State guest was met with a few surprises. The first encounter was the Server Alexander who tossed the drink coasters to us as if we were in a Frisbee Tournament completely unprofessional. We made a collective decision to continue to dine in because of the possible wait time anywhere else on a Sunday would be hideous for a party of six. He didn't give us eating utensils until well after our drink orders had been placed.
The plot thickens after waiting an extended amount of time for our food we asked to see a manager to help us understand why over 40 mins had passed and we didn't have food. People had come and gone yet we were still waiting. All we wanted was a clear explanation to the wait time. Then appears the Manager from Hell Jennifer Eubanks!!! I know we are coming out of and still in the midst of a Pandemic and there maybe a shortage on Reliable Workers but my God she single handedly made this my WORST DINE IN EXPERIENCE. Hand's down, she gets Crown, Banner and Title for being a "Bad Manager". I was embarrassed, flustered and slightly humiliated having to defend our right to ask about food we ordered. Her body language and tone was disgusting visually as well as verbally. She was demeaning with her word choice. Literally 4 out of the 6 dine-in guest all over 50yrs of age (wisdom carriers) tried to get Ms Eubanks to understand where our concern was, yet she gave us some explanation of how she perceived TIME! Failing to fully understand the legitimate concern we had in regards to receiving our meal in a reasonable time frame. She didn't display or communicate one ounce of empathy.
We place our name with hostess approx 5:50pm. I received the text to be seated at 6:03pm, We didn't get our food until 7:25pm with several missing ordered items. The waiter made a total of 11 plus trips to the table not out of concern but clean up some error made. At the end Alexander pull through with an over abundance of apologetic gestures to make right the great offense that had already been issued. He even went as far as verbally expressing that He was overwhelmed and placed the order well after He had taken it. Which is unacceptable but understandable with appropriate notification.
However Ms. Eubanks never came back to Table to apologize or offer some type of solution for the poor service time encountered. The visiting out of State guest and myself need to have this situation addressed by those who employ Ms. Eubanks! They (Corporate heads) need to be made aware of who is representing the Longhorn brand. I will expect a quick and speedy response, until then I warn all future guest to think twice when she is on duty and a...
Read morethe husband and I very frequently visit this restaurant quite often. and the past two visits and my last being yesterday 2pm. I have noticed a few things with the staff and the food..Let's start with the staff the functioning heart or a restaurant. I walked in waited 5-6 minutes not bad for a host. nonone else was present. she arrived and when I say the lady was busting tables, trying to find us a clean spot, seating is all while trying to catch a breath. while being bombarded by what appeared to be new staff with questions. I said to her. we will wait go handle the front door because the guest were filling the front entry. she was busting her but so y'all need to acknowledge that young lady shes a hard worker. I would have walked out if it wasn't for her checking on us. then the waitress forgot our shrimp and ticket for sooo long. the guy in the burgundy top has food all on his apron(cape) and was bagging up and bringing food to table. the guy I guess coming in or from break reeked of weed. the table behind us even said something it was so strong. I understand being short staffed especially in this day and time. but be mindful of the first person that a customer see upon arrival. Your host! yes she helps out the foh but I saw chit chat, talking to the guest about how a baby was so cute, while that young lady was multi tasking like she was a robot. which is why we tipped her and not our waitress. I don't remember her name but I appreciate her hard work while still being nice and she kept apologizing until my husband had to tell her style apologizing we know you're doing your job but you're overworked but she kept on going like the energizer Bunny. I'll be back to check out this restaurant hopefully in the next few weeks to come. I hope we actually get to eat all of our food this time and that I see better improvements on implementing everyone to...
