Absolutely TERRIBLE. I placed my order at 8:30PM and waited until 9:30PM to call the FIRST time to ask if they had received my order. They told me it would take another 10 minutes because the driver just went out the door. So I decided to give it 10 more minutes. 10PM rolled around and my food was STILL not here. I called TEN times to get ahold of them and twice they didn't answer. It was a busy tone and I kept calling and finally got through. They told me that it was another 10 minutes and I said, "You told me at 9:30 that it was 10 minutes and it is now 10 o'clock and I still don't have my food. I want to speak to a manager." She put another lady on the line and she told me it was another 10 minutes as well and said she would talk to the driver. After that, she said she talked to the driver and it would be another 10 minutes and as I was talking saying I wanted to cancel my order, THEY HUNG UP ON ME. My mother called them after she saw that they hung up on me, and talked to them. She asked to speak to the manager and get a refund but they kept telling her that the food was on the way and that the driver was outside. In the meantime, the driver called me and told me he didn't know where he was and I had specifically told him what street it was on to get into my campus dorm. But he refused to listen to me and ASKED ME TO WALK ACROSS CAMPUS TO PICK IT UP. What kind of DELIVERY is that!? And my mom asked for the manager on the phone and they told her that the manager wasn't there. But wait, hold on, when I asked to talk to the manager, they gave the phone to another person POSING as the manager. But after my mom continuously asked to get the manager's name, the lady gave the phone to another person and said "Crazy lady" in the background after handing the phone off to someone else. My mom asked for the number repeatedly and they HUNG UP ON HER as well. After all of this, the driver called me back and asked if I cancelled my order. I told him I would pick up the order but I was getting my money back because this isn't how any customer should be treated. He told me I put down the wrong address, MY OWN CAMPUS that I LIVE ON, and that if I would have put just the college name, he would have found it. But on the address, I put down the street address and which dorm I was in and he STILL got lost. So I told him, would he REALLY have been able to find this place if I JUST put my campus name down when I gave him all the information and he still got lost? No. But while I was talking, he was SCREAMING "You put down the wrong address! You're wrong!" and then, HE HUNG UP ON ME. ABSOLUTE WORST RESTAURANT SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. No service should EVER hang up on their customers let alone tell them they're wrong and DISRESPECT them in this way. DO NOT do business with this restaurant....
Read moreI am sorry. I have been going here with my chinese wife when it was CY. CY was the absolute best food and every dish was a banger. We were really sad when we went and found out they didn't remodel but sold to new owners.
We wanted to give it a try and ordered simple things, if you can't get those right then what can you do.
First off none of the pictures on the menu represent what the dishes look like. Either from CY old menu or the internet but not one dish came out like it was shown.
The shrimp in garlic came with small shrimp and in a garlic soup with clumpy old noodles that were inedible. When I complained that the shrimp were tiny they took it right back and exchanged the shrimp inside for larger ones.
The chicken with spicy peppers had tiny chopped up peppers and looked nothing like the menu. Has some spicy oil flavor but nothing special and my wife thought it was very bland. She hates spicy food and she didnt think it was spicy at all.
The spicy string beans a CY classic were mushy and tasted like frozen veggies. No flavor no spice just watery.
Wontons were ok but again bland with no flavor
Pot stickers were over cooked and tasted like they bought them at Ifresh and heated them up in a pan before serving.
My wife tried the rose dessert item and took one bite and pushed it away.
Extremely sad because this was our go to spot for chinese in the area. Especially since CY was the best authentic chinese food we have had in Miami and even considered it close to our NY go to spots.
I would recommend...
Read moreWould never expect coming off the streets of North Miami Beach to walk into a beautifully laid out Chinese restaurant that serves up some amazing Sichuan Fair. I went after the beginners dish the Dan Dan noodles why not especially with my name Dan. I started at the least spicy level with a side of the most spiciest sauce. Because I wanted to experience the "Ma La" affect. Which is that tingling effect that you get on your lips and your tongue in the roof of your mouth thinking at first you might have stumbled across our allergic reaction but it's really the Sichuan peppers dancing around on your mouth. It's quite the experience it's not over least spicy. It's full of flavor, and horse if you pair it with a green tea or a wine or beer would be great currently they're not selling alcohol here. But the green tea was more than sufficient to help tone things down. I also ordered the sweet and sour ribs short little nibs of riblets with a sweet and sour sauce with sesame seeds all over it great compliment to the Sichuan peppers. Next time I will plan on getting the Sichuan fish which is covered in a bed of all the different peppers that they have here. I was very impressed walking in with how it's so clean and well decorated. The staff is more than helpful with the broken English they help you manage through the menu. The Dan Dan noodles are not on the menu so you're going to have to ask them to make that for you on the side special and I would highly suggest getting at least one to two fried...
