Yay we finally have a Korean Fried Chicken place in Miami!! CM has another location up in Davie but glad not to have to drive past the county line for some delicious chicken!
The shop is in the same strip mall as Bamboo Garden and a few other Asian shops on 163 St. It's mostly take out, with only a counter and 4 chairs for eating in. It was our first visit, and the staff was really nice in explaining the menu and helping us pack our leftover when we left.
You can order the chicken as whole or half, or as wings, tenders and drumsticks. There are also items like tteokbokki, calamari and shrimp, and bubble tea for drinks. If you come during weekday they have lunch specials as well.
For fried chicken there have several flavors like garlic soy, curry, cheese, snow onion (a tangy white sauce w sliced onion). The chicken is among the best I've tasted in Miami. Piping hot inside, juicy and tender, with a crunchy but light breading. The shell is not too hard, and the meat is not dry. Really well done. The sauce adds a lot to the flavor too. Garlic soy, though not suggested in the name, actually has a bit of kick to it. What's KFC if not a bit fiery? The chicken comes with a small amount of Mu radish - pickled daikon that helps to tame the fire and cleanse...
Read moreMy aunt and I live in Sunny Isles but drive up to Davie just to get Choongman Chicken and was excited to see a new location open up close by. Finally went, but the chicken came not fully cooked so had to throw away 2 pieces.
They also had Ube brownies which we LOVE and always get multiple from the Davie location, but was extremely disappointed with the quality that they were selling. Thought these brownies come from the same business, but seems like this Choongman gets the brownies from another company. Not sure how to describe it but it tasted like nothing and a very weird texture of old rubber / plastic. Not sure if they tasted it before getting them. Also extremely expensive $5.50 for the tiny size which is about the size of a person’s palm. Wasn’t satisfied at all by both chicken and the brownie.
We’ll just have to drive up to Davie like we always do. It’s worth driving up to satisfy our cravings, and apparently they are...
Read moreI was thrilled when I learned that CM Chicken had opened a location in North Miami Beach earlier this year. Being familiar with the franchise, I was eager to visit and try their two signature dishes: the "Snow Onion Chicken" with its sweet sauce and white sliced onions and the "Cheese Monster Chicken" with its sweet and salty cheese seasoning powder. The staff, particularly Lexi, provided a warm and friendly welcome and introduced us to the menu, which included exclusive items and lunch specials unique to that location. I ordered the calamari, which was perfectly crispy and breaded with a thin layer, just how I prefer it. The calamari paired well with both the onion sauce and lemon juice. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience, and I look forward to returning and trying their online ordering option in the future. This location is an excellent choice...
