Merkado 31 in North Miami Beach is, without a doubt, my favorite Peruvian restaurant in the area. I’ve had the pleasure of bringing all my friends and family here, and every visit has been a culinary delight. The food is consistently top-quality, and I’ve had the opportunity to try almost the entire menu. Standouts include El Pescado a Lo Macho, which is bursting with rich seafood flavors that never fail to impress. Another favorite is La Chaufa Mixta, cooked to perfection every time, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
The Causas are all delicious, offering a variety of flavors to suit every palate. And don’t forget to try La Chicha Morada, a sweet and refreshing drink that complements the meal beautifully. You can’t go wrong with the classic Lomo Saltado, which is always prepared with tender beef and fresh vegetables. Their Ceviches are always incredibly fresh, showcasing the best of Peruvian seafood.
The staff at Merkado 31 is attentive, kind, and ensures a wonderful dining experience. They are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations. Parking is conveniently located in the back, making it easy to access the restaurant. This location is my go-to because the food and service are consistently excellent. Whether you’re a Peruvian food aficionado or just looking for a great meal, Merkado 31 is a must try. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable...
Read moreI came with my family to visit Miami and chose this place for its ratings. We were promptly seated so no waiting there, however, it took a good 30 minutes for someone to come by and take our beverage orders, not just that, the table next to us who were seated after us was attended first by 2 waitresses and if we didnt look around wondering where our waitress might have gone, we will probably still be seated waiting. After she finally showed up and took our drink orders, she brings all beverages but one, and proceeds to dissappear again for another 20 minutes, not even water was brought. After looking around, finally we see the other waiter bringing out the food and had to ask him "what happened to our waitress, because she forgot to bring me my drink and is been a while" he politely said she was called into the kitchen. Be aware, they do not bring all the food together at the same time for everyone so you may want to order some appetizers before hand. To top off this rating with a bad service from our waitress, I asked to get a cup to take my chicha morada to go and guess what...another wait..we had to ask another waitress who did a better job than she. Hopefully you are lucky enough to get someone else when you stop by...this the reason for my 2 stars overall the food was good...still...
Read moreI came here during my 22nd birthday and I was very excited to celebrate it with my girlfriend.
Once we came in, the staff immediately stared at us in an odd way (We just ignored it)
We sat on the table and it took like 8-10 min for them to take our order (It wasn't even busy) While waiting, the staffs are constantly staring at us and we were getting a bit uncomfortable.
We're starting to think that they're judging us because we look so young (well asians as always) That why they barely give any care for us. We didn't get to enjoy and finish our food as we were really uncomfortable.
~ by the way im also a server, so i can guess what they're thinking and I can understand their gestures.
Turns out i was right, they must have thought we're broke teenagers who don't give tips (They charged 2 people with 18% service charge). As I've said, I work in the same industry. I normally give tips of 20% and not even less, no matter how bad the food is, simply because it's not the server's fault. I know how frustrating it was to serve a table and to not get anything from it.
Im not gonna describe the staffs that served us. But yeah the discrimination is strong in this restaurant and yeah, it happened during my birthday. So i probably not gonna...
