I’m going to be quite honest I’ve ordered from here about a year ago and the food was really good so I decided to give it a second try. I was really disappointed in the service when there was barely anyone in the restaurant, as well as feeling, rushed out as it came closer to closing time. The staff was very unorganized. I was confused on who was waiting on our table, we ordered the trio of ceviche all of them were salty and super sour. Lomo salteado was drenched in a salty gravy reminding me of dog food. The only thing that was decent but very dry was the chicken. They didn’t bother to ask if I wanted dessert or coffee instead handed me the check with a 15% tip included. What honestly leaves a bad taste in my mouth is on top of having bad service there’s a tip automatically added? This place needs new management and a different chef.

This review is long overdue, have been going to this restaurant for years, a place where you will always see whole families eating together. The food is amazing, authentic Peruvian food, this time we ordered the Maracuya drink which is delicious, Causa de Atun is the best I’ve had in the area, the Anticuchos were cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and the sauce’s flavor was really good, the Jalea Mixta was good too, it has changed overtime though, now it comes with little seafood(shrimp, calamari rings, octopus rings) and overloaded with fish but still a good dish to share with everyone at the table. This time I did not ordered the Pescado a lo Macho but I can assure you that it is the best you can have in Miami Dade and Broward. Recommended restaurant for Peruvian food lovers.

Mercado 31 is amazing! It’s a small hidden paradise in north Miami Beach that serves authentic Peruvian food. It’s my 4th time coming and I’m not disappointed at all. Usually I like trying new places but I can say that I will never get tired of this food. I’ve tried many Peruvian restaurants throughout Miami but this one is excellent. When you come you definitely have to try the tallarín crema verde con bistec. It’s a creamy green sauce similar to pesto but Peruvian style with a large piece piece of Churrascaso. It’s to die for you also need to try el ceviche Mercado central & Tres Leches it’s amazing. When you come ask for Diana, I’ve had her several times and her service is beyond. She caters to her guest and never says no! Will definitely be coming back very soon.

Jalea (fried seafood mix) was pretty good, tender pieces of fish, the sarza is fresh and good balance of salt and spice. Ceviche was ok, the leche de tigre (lime juice mix) was a bit sour (happens when you over squeeze the limes or use bottled juice), fish was fresh and great taste. Huancaina Yuca was alright, the Yuca was too soft for my liking and the huancaina too cheesy, good tho. Main course was Tacu Tacu Limeño (mariscos on top) (rice and beans mixed together and molded) was good. Fresh calamari, octopus, shrimp, and the sauce was milky cheese consistency... recommend. Tallarines Verdes (spinach/basil sauce on linguine) topped with a churrasco (skirt) steak that was tender, really good. Service is on point, went for New year's day.

This was my first time to Merkado 31. What compelled me to go there were the reviews. The service was quite good, and my server made excellent recommendations. I ended up trying the Tacu-tacu Limeño, for I had never had tacu-tacu with seafood. It was delicious. The drink (chilcano) was refreshing and not sweet. I only gave Merkado 31 four stars because I found it extremely odd that they didn't serve fried plantains and was told that they don't serve "fried food." I was like, and the jalea, yuca huancaina, french fries? Later, upon asking for an espresso, I was told that they ran out of coffee. Having lived in South Florida for 20 years, hearing that "We ran out," really didn't surprise me.
