This is a neighborhood spot that I've driven by for years with the intent of stopping in or looking them up. Well I finally made it happen. Walked in, grabbed a menu and walked out. Perused the menu and when I got to my house a few minutes later, I was calling in my order. With all the online ordering apps, the art of the phone call can sometimes be lost, but not here! Friendly, personable and patient, they assisted me in placing my order even though I butchered the pronunciation of several key words :-) When I picked up my order, they are as friendly in person as they are on the phone. I returned to my car with the food and aroma was so intoxicating that I took a bite right way, oh yeah I did! The roasted pork melted in my mouth and the onions were divine :-) When I'm happy I'm hooked and I've returned about half a dozen times over the last 3 weeks or so. I've had the lechon, steak sandwich, shrimp creole and the mamey batido multiple times and I'm always happy. This is a great spot with super friendly service and delicious food consistently!!! I'm so glad I found you and I'll sure you'll be seeing me soon.

Updated 12/22/22 - Still a regular, still loving the food and the Staff!!! Can now also vouch for the Palomilla steak, the Mahi mahi and the pork sandwich. Happy...

I can tell you I'm from up North but it really don't matter. They have a $5 steak sandwich that takes me back to my childhood and yet in the same thought makes me glad that I stopped at this place in North Miami Beach. I've been back about...maybe 15 times to order the sandwich, once I even brought my wife, and we live in Sunrise. It's worth it. The steak is juicy, the bread is fresh, the veggies and potatoes sticks are a nice compliment and there is even a homemade sauce if you wanna spice it up a bit. Each time it was served with a smile. Wife ordered the Creole Shrimp and she'd wished we came here more often than the occasional franchise eateries. The owner cares about his customers, his staff, the cleanliness of his place and it shows. Of the 15 or so times I once ordered a burger, a thick juicy $6.50 burger with fries and a drink that I would put up against any burger combo in South Florida..Fact!! But all in all this place is well worth the time to grab for a quick bite, friendly service and a stuffed belly, and a sip of fine Cuban coffee, I know...

First time here. Wonderful authentic food. Great staff, very welcoming to out-of-towners. Walked us through the menu and guided us to some amazing dishes. Will definitely be back next time we are in town. Try the Cuban sandwich, of course! The pork was lean, the flavors all blended together great, and with some crystal hot sauce, perfection! Erica had the ground beef sandwich which is a Cuban taken on sloppy joes with raisins and olives, absolutely delightful with their “pink sauce” garlic, spicy deliciousness. Come by soon and you’ll...

This café is so hidden we almost missed it 👀🔥 Tropics Cafe in North Miami Beach is THAT spot! We had iced colada lattes, cheesy tequeños, tostadas, scrambled eggs, bacon, grits and more — and everything SLAPPED. A real local gem 💎 📍1501 NE 167th St, North Miami Beach, FL #TropicsCafe #MiamiBreakfast #HiddenGemEats #FoodieTikTok #LatteTok #CubanBreakfast #NorthMiamiBeachEats #FoodTok #LocalLove #GritsAndBacon #CoffeeAndBites #FoodieReels #SmallBusinessSupport #MiamiFoodie #ToastyTostada #BrunchMiami #ViralFoodieSpots #305Eats #supportlocaleats

Come here every single weekend for their pan con lechon. Sandwhiches are filled with big juicy pieces of meat and yummy onions. The breakfast sandwich is another stellar choice ( like an omelette with bacon and american cheese between Cuban bread). The staff is superb, very attentive. Also the prices are incomparable with the pan con lechon costing $6 something.
