This is the restaurant I found after my dilemma with tap tap. We are not from miami. So we were counting solely on mrs gps to bring us there- and time was of the essence. By this time we were tired and famished. After pissing off a few miami drivers I'm sure (I apologize) we found l'auberge. They have a parking lot- I went in anxious not to see the decorations, but to see how fast we can get our hands in our food. I was in line shortly when one of the ladies asked how she could help me. Wow. I told her we were dining in, she told me to find a table- instead of leading me to one, but that's ok. Beside the place was full, all the tables were occupied. My friend and I had to sit on these high chairs with a large counter. The waitress didn't waste time bringing us the menu since my friend was not there to place our order she said she was coming back shortly. My friend who wanted to empty his bladder since tap tap chaos went straight to do so. Just as my friend came back the waitress came with two glass of water and took our order. The salad came first which was nothing to brag about. We ordered the fried chicken- being that hungry this was the quickest thing to get. We ordered the chicken with rice with beans, and jus grenadia. They had only one type of rice with beans- so varieties is not their forté. We also ordered some acra. In less than 5minutes, the waitress came with a plate of acra, a little spicy but not bad. I was not even done with my acra when she came with two plates of fried chicken and plaintains, pikliz, and sauce. I heard angels singing- my friend change his rice with beans for white rice and beans. The waitress was happy to do so. The chicken was good, the plantains too. Both rice, I was not impressed- I have had better. The jus grenadia was ok. We paid only $26 and some change for our meal.We tipped the waitress generously she was nice- I thanked her for her service, but didn't get her name. L'auberge saved the day. If ever I'm in miami I will definitely return. They don't have one person working as waitress-server-greeter. That's a plus. And you get a decent amount of food for your money. In addition you don't have to drive around for parking-...
Read moreThis place has the worse customer service ever. The servers' lack of training is unbelievable and they expect while- missing on salad, napkins, cutlery and even make mistakes on the orders at times- to be rewarded tips. My last visit was a nightmare. I order some foods by phone and when i went to pick it up, without no explanations, they were closing before time. I still was able to speak with some officers on location due to chaos maybe that happened earlier, to my disbelief they did not have enough food. To add cherry on top of the cake, i've been told that the waitress i ordered the food from had left. Like the waitress had the food seriously.??? Days after when i got in touch with the manager, the response was the reflection of the employees meaning i could not expect more. No accountability nor apology and i was left hanging at the end of the line. After mumbling that he was never aware of something like that so i mentionned the employees name, at his request another employee hang up the phone in my face. I will never refer this place to somebody else definitely will bring my money where they welcome and cater...
Read moreI must admit, the food is great. HOWEVER, their customer service was awful. I went there the first tine with my friend and told the cashier/server I wanted the chicken with rice only. Mind you, I donât speak a lot of Creole. I only know a little bit of it. I told the other lady that knew more English that I had $7 in cash only (because I store most of my money in my debit card). She told the person taking my order and she was aware. She told the lady that I was getting a small plate for that price. Anyway, she prepares the chicken and rice plate for me (the order I wanted) and then she prepares another plate that I didnât ask for. I keep telling her I only wanted the chicken and rice and she kept ignoring me. So towards the end, she bags both plates and says âIâm finishedâ. I gave her the $7 she was aware I had and then snaps and says âno I need $14â EVEN THOUGH I TOLD HER REPEATEDLY I WANTED ONE SMALL PLATE! Anyway, she had a whole attitude about it and even the other lady was telling her she was wrong and that I only wanted one plate.
Main thing is, the food is great, but the customer service is...
