If you require a minimum purchase during open mics and poetry readings, that's fine. But please do not be so incredibly rude about it next time! A friend and I heard about you and were excited to attend a poetry reading, we showed up but did not carry cash. An extremely unkind waitress did not explain the rule, and instead of being nice called us out for not having money infront of everyone! We love to support small businesses and were excited about the event, but having the owner walk over to our table in such an unfriendly way, simply because we did not know about the 10$ minimum charge was unwarranted. If you are going to have a rule like that, fine but make it clear. Not everyone is going to know about a minimum charge--sometimes you get new clients. Know that we came with the intention of supporting local writers and were very rudely turned away. Disappointing experience for such a cool...

Take me back in time, where things were simple, honest, & beautiful! Luna Star Café is a ticket to all that's pure & delicious, & the MUSIC IS TOP NOTCH! We are from Louisiana, & this Artsy COOL Café felt like New Orlean's finest! Decorated with delightful Art from top to bottom, with a cozy, inviting vibe perfect for listening to poetic musicians...original music lives here! I loved every bite of my Greek plate, & the Angel Hair Pasta Bologna looked so tempting! They serve Leffe Beer! I visited the Brewery in Dinant, Belgium years ago! This place left a bitter taste in my mouth, when they invited me to come to the open mic, not informing me that it's a "pay to play" venue. Upon showing up, they asked for an $18 minimum purchase just to perform at the venue, because it's apparently the artist's responsibility to support their venue. They must not understand that many artists are paid professionals and it's actually a generous thing to perform free and entertain their clients. There's no reason to spend money at the venue, when there's plenty of free open...
