As locals, we try to visit as many local businesses as possible and we come from Conway into MB regularly and have stopped at Dino’s many times. Today was the last time. I am a creature of habit and order the same thing every time I visit there, the Hash Stack and my girlfriend typically gets a version of their eggs benedict. Today was no different other than the portion sizes. We also added a blueberry pancake and two drinks (tea). The Hash Stack is always a full plate of food, most times being nearly unable to finish. Today I would almost say it was a half portion and the Southwestern Eggs Benedict was also lacking in portion size with maybe ¼” cup of hash browns. I had a few bites of an ice cold pancake and while waiting for our waitress to come back to check on us, I walked up to the front desk to grab a menu to double check the item descriptions. The manager (I was told he is the owner’s son) followed me back to the table and asked if everything was ok. When I mentioned our concerns over the portion size, we were greeted with a drastic overreaction with no offer of remedying the situation, just lots of loud speak and attitude and immediately being defensive saying that our prior portions must have been a generous over-servicing each time and that what we received today was an accurate portion for each of our meals. As the only thing we actually ate was a few bites of the cold pancake, we requested he remove the two dishes from our bill to which he said, “no, you’re paying for what you have here”. He was super aggressive, defensive and rude and we just wanted to get our check and leave at that point, but he wanted to keep arguing even as much as to grab another menu after we asked for the check and tried to point out the descriptions on the menu. We were pretty blown away especially after having nothing but great experiences at Dino’s over the years. As we walked to the counter to pay our FULL BILL, I simply stated, “I can’t believe you’re not taking those off the bill” and that’s when he became even more aggressive and speaking very rudely towards myself and my girlfriend telling us that, “You’re those type of people that are just going to complain if everything isn’t exactly perfect.” He then actually swore at us and before he would give me my credit card back, he felt like berating and insulting us further. This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever encountered. Our advice, don’t complain to this guy about your food because he won’t offer make it right, he’ll just defend his business and charge you for an...
Read moreWe came here because of an ad we saw on a local station. We were on our way back home from vacation hoping to get a good meal in our bellies for not too much money. We did leave with full bellies, but with an empty wallet. We should've known when we asked if the chocolate chips our kids wanted on their pancakes and waffles cost extra, she dodged the question and said "yes we can add them" or something like that. Granted, there were a LOT of chocolate chips on their plates, but they cost us $5 extra! ($2 for the bigger kids, $1 for the littlest). I'm actually pretty sure one of the plates ordered was actually "chocolate chip pancakes" so that shouldn't have cost extra at all. Our 3 orange juices and 2 coffees (in cups that, although refillable, were barely bigger than shot glasses) cost $17. I usually just get waters so we can afford to eat out...and this was a huge reminder of why. They do charge you the fee if you choose to use a credit card, so be aware of that. Our bill for breakfast of a family of 5 was $73ish. I really thought I took a picture of the receipt but apparently I didn't, so I can't remember the exact change. As we were leaving we used the ladies' restroom. Two of the 4 toilets had the lids off the tanks and set on the seats indicating they were out of order. The other two were marginally clean. The side of the sink counter looked like it was water damaged and flaking away. We came here because we like supporting family businesses like this one said it was. Sadly, sometimes when a place is all run by family, you can get lazy on things that matter and I think that's what's...
Read moreI’m going to be brutally honest here. The food was great. It was reasonably priced and the service was great; HOWEVER I am very disappointed that there are hardly ANY CDC protocols being implemented here. The hostess had glass at the front register to protect herself, but hardly anything was done to protect employees or customers.
The place was packed at 100% capacity. No social distancing at all. The person in the booth directly behind us wouldn’t stop coughing and it made me uncomfortable. They had regular menus instead of disposable. Regular silverware instead of plastic. The ketchup, salt/pepper shakers, etc were all sitting on the table and I watched a lady clean tables. She was NOT wiping the shakers and ketchup down or the seats. Only the tables. They don’t have to do EVERYTHING on the CDC list because that could be quite costly, but they hardly did anything at all.
I don’t think our table was even wiped down before we sat because there were water marks in the shape of a ring (for cups) on our table. Half of the staff didn’t even cover their nose with their masks.
I understand that businesses can choose what to and what not to implement for Covid-19, but it’s very disappointing to see this restaurant was not taking precautions to keep people healthy/safe like other places are. Again, the service and food were great so I would have eaten here again in a heartbeat if there wasn’t a pandemic. If there were CDC protocols evidently in place, I would have given them a five star rating. Unfortunately, if I get Covid-19 on this trip, it probably would have...
