I went in celebration of my Aunt's birthday 3/16/19. We had a party of 9. We eventually were seated after my Aunt became frustrated after sitting for an hour and watching big parties leave and others get seated that came after us. I suggest they use the light devices like Olive Garden to let people know they are ready to be seated. They proclaimed to have called my Aunt's name twice and texted her phone. However, I was sitting on the other side of the business card grill, which is next to the hostess stand. Therefore, if my Aunt didn't hear her name I would have and yes, she has a easy common name. After being seated we placed our orders. I thought I was getting an order of traditional buffalo wings with 2 sides a corn muffin and I ordered a loaded potato as an extra side. Well, waiter indicated he was busy and it was noticeably because he didn't ask me for my two side dishes, after I ordered the potato. I didn't realize I was supposed to get two sides until after he left the table. However, he should have asked to make sure I didn't want them. He didn't check on our table. He was flagged down for more water. My food was cold. I could tell by the cheese not being melted when I got my potato. The wings were lukewarm and not buffalo hot. I don't understand why these restaurants don't understand that buffalo should be somewhat spicy. When I use Frank's red hot sauce at home to make buffalo wings my nose runs a little. I assumed I didn't receive a full order of wings because I was charged 10.99 instead of 13.99 or maybe it was because he forgot my two sides and muffin. My Aunt, Uncles and Cousins still gave him a nice size tip with his poor service. I brought some wings home with the Wilbur sauce and the devil's spit sauce. I tasted each sauce this morning and next time I'll get a better spicy taste with a different sauce. My other Aunt said this time the food was better than the last time she came, so I'll give it another go and...
Read moreVery upset I drove from the far east side of Cleveland to North Olmstead and I was missing what I really had the taste for which was my Collard Greens and Cornbread. I understand things happen but I felt the GENERAL MANAGER didn’t care and had a slight attitude because I ask for someone else over him. He offered me a $10 credit which was less then what I was missing and had the nerve to say no one was over him.
I am very disappointed in the service at this location. It changed a lot and I use to go there a lot before the pandemic at least once a month and this is the WORST EXPERIENCE AT THIS LOCATION I EVER HAD!!!
And as for the lady that took my order rushed me off the phone.
When I got there I seen a sign inside about desserts so I order a apple pie and you wouldn’t believe they gave me a frozen pie which I paid $19 for. Why would I get a HOT DINNER AND A FROZEN APPLE PIE I NEED TO BAKE!!!
Poor Service from the GENERAL MANAGER SKYLAR. You need to take some Customer Service Classes because YOU SUCK!!!!!
I was about to do another review and decided to edit this one so as for the food which I always loved but this time it wasn’t so good. My ribs and pulled pork was so dry and Mac n Cheese was VERY WATERY! Now I am PISSED. I HAD THE TASTE FOR SOME GOOD FAMOUS DAVE food that I normally get. WORD OF ADVICE DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT EVER ORDER TAKE OUT AND DONT CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING AND ITS NOT DRY!!! IM PISSED WASTED $85 DOLLARS!!!! The only good food I had was the BAKED BEANS, the FRIED CHICKEN and the COLE SLAW!!!
Now you know I have to be PISSED TO WRITE THIS LONG REVIEW!!! It made it worst when I expressed to the SO CALLED GENERAL MANAGER SKYLAR (I think that what he said his name was) and for him to act like he...
Read moreFirst visit for me, but I was with a friend who loves this restaurant so we decided to try it. When we arrived we walked into 4-5 employees hanging out at the podium. A woman behind the podium greeted us, but there was a tall employee with an apron blocking the podium who did not move out of the way so she could service us. He turned around to look at us, but then turned back around to whomever he was speaking with so we could not approach the woman trying to service us. It was very rude and not the best start.
It wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. I would say the restaurant was probably a third full. It took about 10-15 minutes for us to be greeted, at that time the server told us she'd be with us shortly. When she came back she took our drink orders and then came back for our food order. While she was pleasant and friendly, the food took a very long time which was unexpected because they weren't busy at all. The server also never came back to update us on the status of our order which would have helped. Eventually the food was received and it looked pretty good.
Upon tasting the food, we were mostly pleased. Of particular note were the ribs which were very good. Just the right amount of meat and a little fat to keep it moist. The fries and macaroni and cheese were well seasoned. The wings weren't our favorite and the brisket was very dense and not moist. We would not order the brisket or wings again which is unfortunate because we love brisket. Additionally, upon receiving a refill on the water at the end, there was a dead gnat floating in it, so that wasn't fun either.
So while our visit wasn't the worst, it also wasn't the best. Based on all the good things I have been told about Famous Dave's, I guess just...
