This place does have good drinks and treats and it’s very beautiful inside but it has the strangest customer discrimination I’ve ever experienced. I came over the summer and everything was well so I kept returning. Recently I had an experience where a worker refused to open the door for me but opened it for roughly 8 other people who were entering. I was ordering a drink and was cut off so that another customer could be served. I came again later and had better service so I attributed it to an off day. Most recently I came to complete some work and the staff were testing some new drinks and they started handing out free versions of these drinks to customers. They gave one to every customer in that place except me. Even customers who had just walked in received one and I wasn’t offered anything and some customers were offered multiple drinks. And it isn’t as if the staff is unaware of this as they would look at me when I noticed them giving out drinks but still I wasn’t offered anything. I also was the only African American person in the place so I can’t help but conclude that must factor in why I received the treatment I did at this place. It is unfortunate because I did really like the place and originally had...
Read moreI stumbled upon this new café during their soft opening today, and wow—what an experience! I tried the caramel milk cake, and let me tell you, it was pure magic. So soft, so sweet, so utterly delicious that I closed my eyes and was instantly transported to a dreamy, beautiful place. Then came the muffawar coffee—brewed to absolute perfection with a rich, aromatic cardamom aftertaste that lingered so beautifully. Every sip was divine! I also gave the Saudi coffee a try; it was decent, but the muffawar? Next level.
The vibe in this café is immaculate—cozy, inviting, and filled with warmth. And the barista? So polite that they called me Khalto, which sent me straight into an emotional spiral (kidding… but also, not kidding don’t call me khalto 🥲). That level of hospitality? Unmatched.
Mark my words—this place is about to be the spot in town. My new favorite café,...
Read moreI love Yemeni coffee and know what good Yemeni coffee tastes like because I frequently go to Dearborn and Columbus. I was very excited for this store to open because I thought I’d finally be able to enjoy Yemeni coffee without going out of state. Unfortunately it’s too expensive. The large for iced drinks literally looks like a small compared to every other store. The coffee itself does not taste good at all. I tried 4 different drinks and give the store a chance 4 times, but each time I just couldn’t convince myself. Many other Arabs in the community also agree, but most go to enjoy time with family or seeing a friend because it’s a beautiful place on the inside. I even tried the cake, the other cakes are dry but the milk cake is good but overly priced. I think I’d rather go to the other locations...
