7-Eleven — Restaurant in North Plainfield

This particular store location has very bad customer service. They were out of the French toast breakfast sandwich for the promotion they have advertised. The advertisement says that you get a free large coffee with the purchase of the French toast breakfast sandwich. I asked the owner and the employee if they could substitute the sandwich for something else but the lady instead tried to upsell me on a coffee at full price and a sandwich at regular price because they did not have the French toast breakfast sandwich. Then she changed it up when I said that the promotion was for the free large coffee with the purchase of breakfast sandwich, but I was willing to take a substitute in order to get a hot sandwich and a free large coffee. Then she tried to switch it up and have me buy the sandwich and give me a free small coffee but when I told her that the promotion was for a large coffee, they did not want to make the substitution. Once I started pointing out the discrepancies of their "in-house offer" the owner came over to justify. Then I took a picture of the DISPLAYED promotion and I told them that I was going to post my grievance on Google the owner wanted to threaten to call the police on me. When I told him that I was going to stick around for the police he stopped making believe on the call and instead kick me out of the store. Obviously there are two sides to every story. But next time I am on this road I will be stopping at the quick check that is about 1 minute before their location before stopping at this...

I know not to go to 7 eleven to “shop” like a supermarket but this particular, privately owned 7 eleven, has no problem raising prices dramatically for the same item OVERNIGHT. I had been buying Jules there for about 6 months for about $17 do. Literally one Sunday it was $17 and on Monday they went up to $25. I thought that’s how it was with all stores because of the controversy. It turned out all the other 7 elevens and quick checks that I went to were still charging $17 or $18. This store decided they were going to take advantage of the consumer. It’s like when there is a water shortage and a store will charge $5 a gallon. Ever since they changed some of the staff and I think the Managment? (I’m not sure)

I love coming here in the morning for my coffee. The morning staff is friendly especially the lady, I unfortunately forget her name, but I will definitely edit it once I remember. The manager and her always remind me of any ongoing deals that are going on and she always greets people in the morning with a positive, “Good morning!”. Something, I know so simple but really starts my day off on a positive note . She’s always attentive and keeps the coffee station organized and clean. She’s great overall!
