Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in North Platte

I always stop by here for a lunch when I drive through Nebraska. The food here never disappoints me. I always order here Freddy’s original double and it is always good. It is pretty simple but it tastes great. The beef is tender and juicy. Buns are always good and fresh. Fries is also good but sometimes they add too much salt in it. The fries is different than in other fast food restaurants because it is thin but in my opinion it makes it taste better. The restaurant is clean and they make food pretty quickly, I have never waited more than 10 minutes. There are plenty of tables and it was never been too busy whenever I was here. The stuff is friendly and they’re always ready to help you if you have any questions. Also, I usually get the frozen custards here. So far I tried chocolate brownie and strawberry dreamcake, and both are delicious. Also once I tried patty melt and it wasn’t that good as their regular burgers. Food was great. Service was meh. Lady in black shirt was at register but was on cell phone and when I went to pick up food the 3 cooks saw me standing there but ignored me ( all I needed was a plastic knife). As far as cleanliness this place is GROSS! we picked the cleanest table and we were stepping all over fries, all of the tables had greasy fingerprints all over and/or leftover food. Not a single table had been cleaned in a while. The drink station was sticky and a huge mess. The bathroom doors were disgusting. During our time there no one cleaned and they were not busy. Freddy's is a very good burger place. Their version of 'Steakburgers' stands up well with the competition and the fries are outstanding. Thin, crispy and perfectly done and not overly salty. They remained crunchy and delicious w/o getting limp. The menu features only double burgers but ALL can be made up as singles. A double was not overwhelming and the single is the perfect size for a medium appetite. The signature Turtle Sunday was delicious and using WARM pecans is brilliant.
