First time eating here. Ordered take out. Let me say that I am a BBQ fanatic and I have to try them all when they pop up. I got home and everything I asked for was in the bag. Glad to see that I don't need to check my bag before I leave to make sure nothing was forgotten. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw. The sandwich was just 3 chunks of pork on a bun. I had to pull the pork myself which was a little disappointing. The coleslaw was very good but slightly "wetter" than I would like. I ordered a 1/2 lb of brisket just to try it. It was dry but that is the way I like it. There was literally almost no fat on the brisket which is also how I like it. My wife had pulled chicken, green beans and macaroni and cheese. She liked the chicken. The green beans seemed to be smoked which she didnt like. The macaroni she thinks they use smoked gouda in which also obviously made is taste smoky. She and I both feel the same. Only the meats should be smoked. People try to over do it with the "BBQ-Smoky" aspect and put everything in the smoker. Personally, just steam the beans with a little bit of bacon salt a nd pepper. No smoke. The Macaroni could just be a good macaroni without the smoke flavor. Different food needs to taste a little different. Not everything needs to taste like the smoker. We purchased the 2 rib meal with fries for my daughter. The rib portion was quite large, it was actually a 3 rib, but it was almost all fat and very little meat. My daughter ended up eating some of my brisket with her fries and we threw the ribs away. I tried to pick some of the meat out of the ribs for myself but it wasn't worth the time. I would for sure go back and try something else. Probably just get a brisket sandwich next time. My wife said shed get the chicken again but would probably order different sides than she did this time around. My Daughter says chicken tenders and fries next time. I think the potential is there for this to be a great lil BBQ place. A bit more attention to detail and a few bugs to work out. Also the seating arrangement when I walked in to pick up my food was weird. At first when I walked up I thought there was supposed to be a second entrance because there was a man sitting right in front of the door eating which I thought was weird. He was literally blocking the entrance. I opened the door and then could see the reason why he was right in front of the door. The place is VERY small and it's galley type seating. One row of tables and chairs down the left side as you walk in. Not the best "eat in" setup. This BBQ shop wont be my go to but it was a decent first experience. I've had way worse. hopefully they can use our reviews constructively and make the little changes necessary to up their game a...

This place was good when it was small, but since it has expanded, it is horrible. I sat at the table it was sticky and so was the menu. My drink took over 10 minutes. It was weak and watered down. When the food came, it was not hot or tasty. Just doesn’t have that smoky barbecue flavor anymore. The portions are also smaller. The meals are expensive for what they are. Even the walls were dirty like kids smeared food and it didn’t get cleaned. Also I noticed dirty dishes piled up right behind where I sat, which is very unprofessional. I noticed because they smell gross while you are trying to eat. The owner is not friendly at all. He just looks at you when you walk in or out does not even say hi. How did this place change so much???. If you don’t want to be disappointed, then don’t go here to eat. Sorry, but you all need to be like you were before when you were small. And yes I’ve been back 4 or 5 times and gave it several chances thinking it was just an off day but it seems like because you are bigger now you just don’t care about anything except money. Didn’t want to post a review until I had several bad dining experiences. So sad but I won’t be back again now and I will be sure to spread the word.

To the owners poor excuse for a response:

My drink was watered down because the ice melted from sitting 10 mins. Your customers should NOT have to do your job checking the cleanliness of your restaurant and reporting back to you. It’s actually not easy for a customer to approach management or write a review. I wanted to after the first bad experience but I just was hoping it was an off day or 2. You should be walking around once in awhile noticing this and asking customers how everything is. You should be addressing issues instead of belittling customer reviews. Take accountability for the condition of your restaurant. Keeping dirty dishes directly behind customer seating is a big NO. Seating customers at a dirty table is a big NO. Noticeably dirty walls at dining tables is a big NO. Remember, customers don’t mind paying extra money if it was a great dining experience. As far as craving your attention, not the case at all, You are often sitting in the first booth near the door (not looking stressed) when customers come in or leave and you could at least say “hi” or “thank you for coming, how was everything ? “ instead of going on TikTok. Be more...

A gastronomic delight awaits at DUBZ BBQ, where the tantalizing aroma of perfectly smoked meats beckons you in. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Mariah, who proved to be a remarkable server. Her knowledge of the menu, warm friendliness, and attentive service elevated our dining experience to new heights.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the food. DUBZ BBQ absolutely impressed us with their extraordinary barbecue creations. Each bite was a harmonious blend of succulence, smokiness, and tenderness. Whether it was the melt-in-your-mouth brisket or the finger-licking-good ribs, the quality and flavor of the meats were nothing short of outstanding.

But what truly took our taste buds on an adventure were the incredible sauces that accompanied our dishes. DUBZ BBQ has masterfully crafted a range of sauces, each with its own distinct personality. From tangy and sweet to fiery hot, these sauces elevated the already exceptional meats to another level. The perfect balance of flavors had us reaching for more, making it difficult to choose a favorite among them.

The ambience of DUBZ BBQ added to the overall experience. The rustic and welcoming atmosphere perfectly complemented the mouthwatering barbecue aroma. The establishment's attention to detail was evident, with thoughtfully arranged tables and a clean, well-maintained space that enhanced the dining atmosphere.

However, it was Mariah who truly shined throughout our visit. Her extensive knowledge of the menu and her ability to describe each dish with passion and enthusiasm made our dining journey even more enjoyable. She was attentive, ensuring that our drinks were always filled and our needs were catered to promptly. Mariah's friendly demeanor and genuine care for every guest created an inviting and comfortable environment that added to our dining pleasure.

In summary, DUBZ BBQ is a haven for barbecue enthusiasts seeking a remarkable dining experience. With Mariah's exceptional service and the fantastic food that surpassed all expectations, this place left an indelible mark on our taste buds. Don't forget to smother your meats in the mouthwatering array of sauces as you savor some of the best BBQ...

This place WAS amazing back when my spouse & I would come here about once a week for prob 1-1.5 years until he passed away… we just LOVED the pulled pork, smoked wings, cornbread. Now I pick up my food to go… and never is it a good experience whenever this little girl is Working. She is not Meant for the service industry and definitely not Meant to be the face of the restaurant. She is rude as you’d ever imagine, never can find my order despite my notifications telling me My foods been ready 5 min. Went in tonight 7 min after my order was ready to Be picked up. Had to park around the building… walk in… she asked for a name. I give to her and she claims no orders here for me. I run all the way back to the car to get my phone to prove it… come back in and she repeats my name asking if that’s me… I say “that’s what I just told you”. She proceeds to say “maybe you should stop coming here if you have a problem everytime you come”. So I’m gaslighted by this little girl… I am a customer and my order is READY & instead of you being nice and apologizing for the inconvenience, you deflect the problem to be on ME? She needs to find a new Line of work… and more clothing… only hot girls should be wearing those kinds of outfits… not her. Overall not impressed anytime I go to what used to be one of my favorite places…. But only when SHE is working. Very unfortunate the owners allow that to be the face of the experience there when there are tons of smiling amazing gorgeous options out there who would be a better fit.

We have been looking for a “go to” bbq place now for AWHILE… so far we have been a little disappointed with the bbq choices in and around Port Charlotte with just “so-so” bbq joints. We were hopeful and we were PLEASANTLY surprised with DUBZ. After living in Texas, multiple extended visits to Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, Kentucky and South Carolina. We consider ourselves BbQ AFICIONADOS. We were greeted warmly by the hostess with prompt seating and served by our wonderful waitress Mariah, she was awesome with excellent suggestions and detailed descriptions of the specials, lunch and regular menus. Wife chose the 1 meat platter and I chose the Ribs and 1 meat platter. Wife selected the sliced brisket (moist) with green beans and brisket chili and cornbread. I chose the St. Louis spare ribs and brisket (moist) accompanied by Mexican street corn and collard greens. It DEFINITELY hit the spot! ALL the sides were OUTSTANDING! The collard greens were particularly excellent as well as the street corn and green beans! The bbq sauces available were very good a total of 6 choices at the table all were good with the Hot, Carolina Gold and Jalapeño Mango being the favorites. Brisket was moist and with the perfect amount of smoke flavor, the ribs were an excellent as well! Tender and excellent flavor. Overall we enjoyed the meal and will DEFINITELY be back when we have the BBQ hankering!!! Mariah did a fantastic job as our server! This place will NOT DISAPPOINT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

March 19,2022 My husband went here last night(March 18,2022) and ordered 2 lbs of pulled pork to-go and an order of some type of mac-n-cheese fried balls. The fried mac-n-cheese balls lacked flavor and the pulled pork was soooooo dry, look at the last photo I posted for the 2lbs of dried up pulled pork!!!! I asked my husband if he watched them load that garbage and check it before leaving and he did not. I would have straight up said NO if I was standing there and saw that dry meat. I thought by now they would have figured out how to cook pulled pork but they still haven't figured it out. The cook/cooks and OWNER should go to Bricks in Sarsasota and shadow their cooks to learn how to cook excellent BBQ. I'm changing my original 3 star review to a 1 star. You should be embarrassed to hand a customer dried up meat like this. What a waste of money!! -------------------------------------- Review from the 1st time we visited after they opened: My husband and I both ordered brisket. They ask you if you want "lean" or "moist" brisket and we both asked for "moist". Our brisket was dry and lacked flavor. We poured their sauces on it and ate some. I'm giving them 3 stars for the yummy hush puppies and the ok beans. We are Texans living in Fl searching for some good brisket! If anyone knows where we can find some other than making it ourselves which we do let me know please!
