K&G Diner — Restaurant in North Providence

My first visit since the sale of the old restaurant. I ordered eggs, HFs and toast. It cost me over $9.00+!!! I will say their home fries have improved. I was handed a slip that had some kind of “convenience charge” on it… couldn’t have been for CC processing bc I paid cash… so what is that from? I have to pay a fee bc you decided to use a certain POs system….. granted it was only $.17 but still… why should anyone have to pay for a system YOU decided to pick. Food wasn’t bad but I’d expect better quality for over $9.00$ Secondly, their hours of operation…. They got rid of the late night hours which was a staple of the previous business…. I’m sure they noticed a huge decrease in business as a result. That place was known for late night hours and ya got rid of it… my opinion bad business idea but who knows maybe it’s due to lack of help which everyone is experiencing now. While I won’t be returning anytime soon, I always want small businesses to be successful and I wish they luck moving fwd but won’t be...

They got my Ubereats order wrong twice on the same day, just two hours apart. First they delivered two bowls of soup instead of full breakfast. Then, when I tried again they delivered a breakfast for which I ordered two extra eggs (i.e. 4 eggs in total) , with NO EGGS AT ALL. Rachel explained that, “they let them take two orders at a time now, so they must have mixed them up.” When I called after the second misdelivery , Rachel said the delivery drivers where debating who should bring me the new order, given that Dolores (the first driver who made the first mistake was there). Something is off here. I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s beyond a simple mix up.

The food was not worth the price. The bacon is old, the home fries are flavorless, the toast was soggy and covered in that cheap waxy tasting margarine. Nonetheless, I was so hungry after waiting so long that I ended up having to eat it. “I have not gotten sick,” is the only good thing I have to say...

this used to be my favorite place for 8 years i would come weekly if not daily for the amazing food and the amazing staff

recently they have flipped this amazing business upside down and ruined a community hot spot we’ve had for years . i have made many friendships and relationships with the folks who worked there and came to eat . my life wouldn’t be the same without it .

i’m a utterly disappointed to what they have done so such a beacon of light in this drab town . i will never step foot in this establishment and i will always recommend against anyone i know to go here . this is the biggest steaming pile of rubbish to come to RI and whoever bought this place and had the bright idea to ruin it . i really hope your pillow is always warm, you hit every red light
