They must’ve had good food at some point in time because the reviews from years ago seem consistently great. Smh to the recent reviews though. Different ingredients are used today for sure, cheap quality but still priced high. Anyone who writes a good review here in present day simply doesn’t know good from bad food and is spreading false information. Maybe their pizza is the only descent item, I will never know. See for yourself. But, definitely avoid pasta dishes here..overcooked and burnt-like brown marks on the rigatoni with very, very watery based Alfredo. No creaminess to the sauce. Yea I’m sure it doesn’t happen every time to every customer. I get it, s$@t happens. They made an effort to make up for it next day (today) by replacing it with a steak and cheese sub, I tried it without hesitation. Yikes, it had an old, oily taste to the steak that seeped into the bread, I couldn’t even finish half and I was hungry. Almost vomited. I still taste the gross oil in my mouth as I write this review. Terrible experience. I won’t even call to let them know because the workers there probably aren’t even to blame for the major flaws in their quality. But how’s their pizza?? I can only wonder, but will never know for I’m never going back. I can’t imagine it being any good after trying some of their ingredients. These guys can’t boil water if they tried. Let alone cook pasta. No offense. They can make a pizza here? You ppl raved about it??! What have you recent, positive reviewers been eating your entire lives, frozen food?? Awful Captain’s, just plain awful. Come to find out, they simply just have inferior product, unfortunately. I do understand the price for food is expensive today, but to increase your prices with cheaper quality food instead was abundantly clear to me. The Captain is going down with his ship for sure, unless they change their bad habits. Amazed this place is still open for business. Wouldn’t go back if you paid me to. Basically, just avoid going here...
Read moreI've never eaten here before, and just ordered a pizza for the first time tonight. I talked to the kid on the phone at 9:36. I asked him for a particular pizza that I saw on their website, and asked if I could substitute one of the meat options on it for a vegetable. The kid told me yes, and I chose which vegetable, and then proceeded to read out every ingredient that would be on the pizza to confirm with him. He agreed. My boyfriend went to pick up the pizza at 9:57. When he arrived, he opened the pizza to check that the order was right, and could clearly see that it wasn't. The kid assured him that he had told me over the phone that they had changed their menu, and the pizza that I ordered would not have the exact same ingredients anymore. (He did not mention this at all on the phone, and certain ingredients were totally missing, and weren't replaced with anything else.) My boyfriend paid and left, even leaving a tip. When he arrived home, I saw that the meat on top was sausage and was supposed to be hamburger. I called, especially after hearing about the kid's lie that he told me about the new menu, and asked if he had put hamburger on my pizza. He assured me that he did, that he had personally made my pizza himself. I tasted it, my boyfriend tasted it, and the meat was clearly sausage. He told me again that he had put the ground beef on himself (another lie.) I live at the bottom of the street from this pizza place, and I will never be back again. When I let them know how disappointed I was, especially with this being the first time I had tried this pizza place, the kid had literally nothing to say, not even sorry, and FORGET trying to make any amends. I moved to this town a year and a half ago and no one had anything good to say about Captain Pizza. I now know why, and I certainly...
Read moreThe food is pizza and subs. I've had worse. I've had better. The issue is the customer service. I've been here several times, to the point the gentleman that appears to be the boss at night knows my name. On several nights I've stopped in before work and the older gentleman with glasses was rude to me. I'm giving you business, and you're rude to me when ordering food? I figure it's just him. I go in on Saturday night and the regular night crew is working. One person in front of me. His order is taken. The boss answers the phone. Hangs up. Addresses the person in front of me again. Answers the phone again. Then a person walks in, right past me, and the boss hangs up the phone and starts talking to him. Like old friends. Again. HE SAW ME! I'm standing 6 feet away from the "boss." He knows me. We've done business before. I walk out. Hey boss man. Remember when you told me to tell people you're still open. Don't worry. I won't say a positive word about your business. There are other options in the area.
I went back tonight 01/13/24 and attempted to give them another try. I ordered 2 slices of pizza. $4. Fine. I give the employee a $5. dollar bill and as he hands me back my change, a $1. bill and he tries to grab it back. This same employee was handing food, and working the cash register without gloves or washing his hands. I demanded my money back and he decides to get mouthy. As I stated to him I’ll be contacting the N. Reading Board of Health Tuesday morning. I wish I never went back, and could give...
