I came in a little after 1pm and Karen G was my server as it says on my tab. I ordered the Corned beef hash plate with eggs, biscuit (doesn't come with gravy, I guess you have to ask for it), and grits... I ate here last time with my cousin and he ordered the same and I had tried it which was good then. So I came back today for the second time and my corned beef hash did not taste the same. I had more hash brown than the actual Corned beef.... I told Karen G how come it's like this and she offered to take it back and remake it... At first I was hesitant cause I know that would irritate the kitchen people and they might spit or do something to my food, and I know my server probably didn't like that I was being picky. She came back with the dish and they just added more corned beef to it but for some reason it just still didn't taste the same from last time. I guess they have trouble with consistency, or maybe they had a different cook or food preparer today. I'm not sure but I wish I could have took picture of the first plate that came out . It was mostly just hash brown and scarcely any corned beef on it. Another thing is Karen G, my server gave me my tab immediately right after she brought my food out. Like I haven't even got to dig in yet and my check was already on my table as if she was rushing me out or something. I know this is not fancy dining which they do not give your ticket tab right away but still giving your ticket to diners immediately is not a proper etiquette thing to do when this is a sit down dine in restaurant... A party of 3 sat next to me and I noticed Karen didn't give them their ticket tab immediately... It must be because I was by myself and she probably thought I wouldn't tip or something... I didn't eat all my corned beef hash cause like I said it didn't taste the same but I still tip 36% of the total tab which was $14.06 and I gave $5 cash! Anyways I probably won't come back anymore!!!

EDIT: after boasting about this place to my boyfriend, we got breakfast last week. Ordered it to go and picked it up, took it home. The service was kinda off-putting, almost avoidant. When we got home, our food has no seasoning, i got a shrimp eggs benny and I LOVE eggs benedict. But this was terrible. Just nasty. They didn’t toast the english muffins, the flavor was weird, the eggs werent poached correctly, it was unfortunate. I was sad. My boyfriends plate was the same. The grits were gross. I’d give this place another shot, but after that, no more. Great find! I love the location and ambience. Its clean. The service was good, attentive. I ordered chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Friend ordered cinnamon french toast and a protein breakfast. All of our food was extremely fresh. And im not just talking about that they cooked it and brought it out immediately. It was fresh fresh, like fresh vegetables, fresh eggs, fresh everything. It was like eating at a farm table on a farm. Only criticism is a little bit more seasoning, just the tiniest bit, but I was not disappointed. The cornbread was a little dry too. But thats all. I give my plate a 8/10. The cinnamon french toast, 8/10. Freshness 10/10.

What a refreshing breakfast/lunch spot. I absolutely enjoyed bringing my family for breakfast . Price was good. Two breakfast meals one bisque and gravy, two cups of coffee, one juice : $42 +tip $7 total $49 Food was hot I had a Tex/Mex breakfast plate. It wasn’t the most explosive flavorful meal, but it was good. Kids shared a classic breakfast with waffle. Perfect for them. Wife wasn’t that hungry but had a biscuit and gravy. Overall everything was great except the coffee. The COFFEE: The coffee was weak. Extremely weak. I’ll give this place 5 stars, but I will probably bring my own coffee next time. The coffee brewing method used here is outdated and produces weak flavorless coffee. I’ve been to many diners who invest in quality coffee brewing technology. This is desperately needed here. A good cup of coffee is a game changer. I love a good ole fashioned breakfast spot with tasty food and good service, but the ole coffee brewed into the glass pots is no good. I’ve included a few pictures of the coffee after being refilled. Water with coffee flavor.

Frankly, one of the worst brunch experiences I've had both in the metroplex and the country. I normally don't write reviews, but so many things went wrong with this experience I had to write it down.

First, be forewarned the restaurant will apply a surcharge if you use a credit card. Unsurprisingly, there is no notice for this on the menu, and only a small one on the door, which, as a customer, is frustrating. Additionally, when finished with your meal, your receipt reccomends you tip on the total including the surcharge, which just feels wrong.

Now on to the experience. It was terrible. When we arrived, we were seated promptly, however, it took 20 minutes for our order to be taken, which wouldn't have been as bad if our server didn't take a different patron's order first, even though they came in after us. I understand they may have been regulars, but if I'm being honest that really frustrated me, and is not good service.

Once our order was taken however, the food arrived relatively quickly in around 15 minutes. While most of the food was fine, it wasn't anything to write home about. A notable detail however was how a member of my party mentioned how it tasted as if their hashbrowns were cooked with "rancid" oil, making them taste terrible.

When our food arrived, our server noticed a bun was missing from one of our plates, although I expected her to get a new one from the kitchen, it appeared to me as if she took the bun from a different patrons table (the regulars) and brought it to us, which was absolutely disgusting.

Add to this the fact our server was just generally avoidant and kind of rude, and the whole experience just put a bad taste in my mouth. In my hurry to leave the place after all of these problems, I forgot to sign the receipt certifying my tip. Despite my lack of a signature, my tip was still proccessed. While I did indicate properly the tip I intended to give, I am a little concerned the tip was processed without a signature, as that is generally against the card issuers policy.

All in all, I left the cafe frustrated at the service and the way we were treated. Most of these issues could be forgiven or overlooked, but when you take someone else's order first, even after a long wait time, and when you take food from their table to give to us hoping we won't notice - that's when you've gone too far. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the worst cafe I've been to in the country, and I will seriously never...

This is my new favorite place! My favorite has always been West Side Cafe in FW, but it is just a haul for us and I am always lamenting that we do not have something that calliber on this side of town. We tried BC today and it had everything I want in a diner. I knew when I walked in and saw all the gray hairs that this is a place with my kind of people! It was clean and well decorated without trying too hard. It gave a nod to an old school diner feel, but was also current and clean. It was crowded, but without slowing down service. They had everything you would expect/want on a diner menu and the food was excellent. All of my kids ate all of their food and everyone was trying everyone else's food. The price was on par with what eating out costs these days (its all expensive, even fast food), but was not excessive (and I am always willing to pay more for good quality/service and a locally owned business). The bathrooms were clean and cute. The service was good, but it was more than good. It was sincere. Our waitress noticed that my husband didn't have cornbread on his plate so she said, "Oh! You don't have cornbread. Let me go get it." He actually did have the cornbread and had moved it to his napkin, but that fact that she was paying attention and was quick to get it right without even being asked is a kind of service that is RARE these days. All in all, BC hit every high point. With the high cost of living I am a SUPER judgemental critic, but this place makes me happy. I will be a regular from...
