This place was nothing like the reviews said.
I booked my stay from Expedia. When I read the reviews I was thinking, oh gosh this could be bad.
When I got into the room I was hit first by a smell that no amount of cleaner can remove. I had a non smoking room and to no fault if the hotel itself guests have probably abused this.
The bed was not hard at all, it was so soft I almost rolled off of it when I went to grab something from the floor.
The outlets to the lighting and what not had USB ports in the room. That is imperative to those of us who use their phones 15 hours plus because we need to charge things with USB.
The decor of the room is outdated but I generally don't like hotel decor anyways and it's not always about aesthetics.
I inspected my mattress. I found no sign that there had been any infestations of any bugs. I hunted corners, I found none.
The WiFi was available but it was very slow. Perhaps it was only the day but my phone's 5G hotspot was faster and allowed me to continue working on schoolwork through my stay.
I remember reading another review about maid service and towels. I never had to request maid service. They came each day without fail. This includes replacing the towels.
I also recall seeing a review about check in etc. The man that checked me in was definitely a friendly face that I wouldn't mind seeing again. He made me feel comfortable. Spot on. Unfortunately I don't remember his name.
Let me talk about noise level. If I stood right next to the front door I could hear things outside. Only time I heard anything I was outside my room, but with that said I was on the second floor. Either way it was over a weekend, and I found no fault in my experience on the second floor. But hey if someone is sitting there listening with intent then they will eventually hear something. I won't speak for others on the first floor though. They might end up hearing things, I really don't know.
I didn't experience any sort of breakfast here but then again I didn't expect it either. So that was on par with expectations.
It was extremely cold in Texas and even snowed this might have effected the water temperature. I like my water hot. I never felt the water got hot enough for my liking. Grain of salt I like to be red and steaming, but that's just my preference.
The side street is all sorts of torn up, but there are safe passages to turn in and out of the parking lot with more than enough space. I have cataracts in both eyes and I didn't drive off any embankments. So, not sure what that reviewer was on about, but then again if you drive your car into an unsafe situation it's not the fault of the hotel.
Overall, if I had to stay in the area again I would recommend this room. Especially to anyone traveling on a budget. When I come back to stay again, I will be making another reservation with this hotel given the circumstances.
I hope this...
Read moreThe place is infested with the roaches and filthy (pictures below for proof) and The lady at the front desk was absolutely rude. The manager has responded to other reviews saying this is not a normal accurance and “an exception” but it clearly is a lie as they do lie constantly to guests because many people have the same complaints and nothing has been done to change the rude woman at the desk, dirty linens, fighting guests, and the infestation of roaches. I posted pictures with my review to show the disgusting things in the room. I told her about the issues with our room having bugs and being dirty and she told me “we only give clean rooms” and when I brought up the bugs in my room and the soiled linens covered in black stuff and bodily fluids given to us she denied me service and canceled my reservation instead of changing my room like I asked. I just wanted a clean room with no bugs and clean linens and did not want to bring an infestation to my own home or stay in filth as I was a paying customer. There is also a bunch of people yelling and shouting physically fighting in the early morning so it’s also unsafe in general. Do not stay here and waste your money. I assume they do not have any clean rooms with out roaches since she couldn’t change my room. Fire the horrible and mean desk woman (I believe she’s Indian) get new linens and actually wash them, get an exterminator, clean the sticky floors so guests feet don’t turn black, call police for violence on the property and show actual initiative that the issues will be changed instead of lying to the other reviewing guests that these issues will be changed. I will be making a report to the proper agency to investigate with my pictures I took and experience so they will be investigated and questioned and hopefully will be shut down until the place is clean, have had the roaches exterminated, new clean linens that are actually washed between guests, and is under new management that is actually helpful and not rude to guests, and fires the gross woman acts above others but she’s the one thinking roaches, and filthy rooms, and soiled linens is “clean”. (Please see pictures down below, it doesn’t even...
Read moreI hate doing this because I was having a great experience. However the last few days have contradicted the first couple of nights.
EDIT: Below this addition to my review, is my original review. It may seem as though they contrast….. Well. My experience in the last couple of days has contrasted greatly. First I need to point out that there are pet fees and a deposit…. Which is perfectly fine. Standard for any place. However I have yet to be given a receipt for either one of them. I have a problem with this because I was not given my deposit back. I was told that I did not pay a deposit. So…. No receipt = their word against mine. I have had to extend my stay, and so I would book the next night online through a 3rd party provider, prior to check out. I was told I still had to check out because otherwise from checkout at 1100am until 3pm I would be, and I quote, “staying for free”. I was given the option to pay an additional $20 cash for those 4 hours. HOWEVER, they told me that if I were to book the next night at the front desk, I would not have to checkout, or pay the $20 for the 4 hours between 1100 am and 1500 (3pm). But regardless most of the staff have had a nasty attitude with me. Talking down to me , rolling their eyes, talking smack about the customer that they just helped after they walked away etc….. the lady in house keeping is exceptionally kind. As well as one of the gentlemen that works at the front desk.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you are looking for a budget friendly place to stay for a night or 5….. this is your place. Olive Garden. Red Lobster, Hooters, Waffle House, King Crab are a few of the restaurants that are either right next door or .6 miles or less. RaceTrac, QT, 7 Eleven, Texaco are all less...
