The waitress was clearly visibly ill. She had the worst case of laryngitis I'd ever heard, we couldn't understand half of what she was saying, but it wasn't just that. Her eyes were watery, swollen, and red rimmed... Also she was coughing. Not something that makes you feel good about seeing in the person who will be touching all your food and drinks. When we asked if she was sick she denied it but I've never seen anyone with just allergies or a rough hangover present nearly as badly as what I was seeing. It's possible that if I weren't 7 months pregnant I might have just taken my chances but I just got over a respiratory illness that really messed me up last month and I was not willing to take a chance on it happening again at this point. When I explained this and asked for a different wait staff we got such a terrible attitude from her. Like she actually got really mad when we pointed out she still seemed visibly ill regardless of what she was saying to us and asked if anyone else could take the table. Asking to not have my food touched by a clearly sick person, especially when my own health is currently extra at risk, is not meant to be a personal offense this particular wait staff. Also we watched her go over to what appeared to be the manager and another server, and all of them glared at us together. Fyi If theres a staffing issue going on, that's not my fault and the solution should never be to expose others to a sick persons germs either. That whole situation left such a bad taste in my mouth. Not wanting my food handled by someone as sick as that should not be such a big ask. That the staff was making me out to be the bad guy when I'm looking out for my own safety and pointing out the obvious that would be concerning to probably anyone. Also for what its worth, even if I wasn't pregnant during this experience, I'd like to point out that I'd have been uncomfortable with what I was seeing there because just in general no one that sick should be coming in to work a shift of food service work at all whatsoever. The food was decent, generally adequate Primanti's fare... However it's hard to get past this particular visit there if that's the hygiene and safety standard that this specific establishment is okay with presenting to their customers. I'd be concerned about not only the likelihood of picking up preventable illnesses from staff who aren't sent home when they should be, but also what else might be happening behind the scenes...
Read moreI usually love it at Primanti brothers but this one has really went downhill. First off we did online order on our way back to Ohio we take trips home a few times a month and always stop by at least one of the locations! This one was good but these past few times over the last year have been bad! I normally don’t leave bad reviews but this type of thing is happening all over the place now businesses slipping and not getting called out in a time where every penny is counting for us all. First the bathroom was disgusting I actually cleaned it up a bit and I know that’s customers fault but should be addressed toilet paper every where , urine on floor and toilet seat, paper towels being stacked high on top of closed lid garbage can. Secondly asked for ketchup , extra pieces of lemon, and Parmesan cheese for my zucchini, didn’t get none of the above so I go back in and was told they don’t have Parmesan cheese to go but came back with a piece of lemon in small container , she says ,”here’s a lemon”. I was told they didn’t have packs of ketchup they barely had any in bottles waits for me to just give up but we are eatin in our car plain fresh cut fries no sale at all so we needed ketchup. That would have all been alright if my zucchini didn’t taste like old oil or something and there was barely zucchini , then my husbands sandwich had no coleslaw on one side but then he goes to eat second half it looked like a head of cabbage on it and it had no seasoning at all that is the whole staple and flavor so paid hmmm $40 for a dinner we didn’t like or eat. I’m done with this if you take peoples money then it should be right. We ate what was edible and went to fast food place. Again it’s been a few times now like Pittsburger this time last time my corned beef was like leather. They offer nothing then so I didn’t try they could tell I wasn’t pleased and I could tell they didn’t care so...

What a mess. While the place has not changed, this location has gone downhill - a lot! The biggest problem is the noise level. They pumped the music to such an extreme level that it was impossible to have a conversation anywhere in the facility. We asked that it be lowered, and we were not the only ones, to no avail. Our waitress could not be heard even though we saw her mouth moving. We ended up pointing at the menu. It did not help that we felt that she was recovering from a sickness that affected her voice.
The food was OK - this is a chain, so they could not make it too poor. However, one of the reasons we came here was for their lines of drinks with the rubber ducks and these were a HUGE disappointment. The flavors were metallic and syrupy and I have no idea if they put any of the alcoholic drinks that were advertised in there - they certainly did not taste like they were there. The ducks are cute though.
This chain is an institution around the Pittsburgh area and this was my first visit to this location. It is set up as a sports bar with the bar in the center, lots of tvs showing ESPN channels, and the kitchen in the back. While item for only about a year the booth we were guided to had clearly been abused add the various cuts were taped over....
While not overly busy during our stop, the staff took their time getting to us and preparing our food. Consequently it took us longer than expected to eat lunch.
Portions are gargantuan. Opening your mouth to fit in a bite is a challenge. I ended up taking my sandwich apart and using a...
