We went to Pig & Fire House of BBQ for the 1st time on Friday. I've been past this area many times & never even knew that these little businesses were hidden up there. Pig & Fire is inside a gorgeous old mansion. You feel like you are in some high class home from days gone by. It certainly is a beautiful & distinctive dining experience.
They were busy! But I guess people know great barbecue! Almost all tables in our area were full. Then a large group of about 20 was being seated. I thought wow, we will be waiting a long time or service won't be great, but on the contrary, service was not affected. They handled it so well. Obviously they know what they are doing.
Dayne was our server. He was so nice & did a wonderful job. He kept our drinks filled & was very attentive. Also he let us know there was still about 15 minutes left of happy hour & that certain appetizers were half off. We usually don't order appetizers but because he mentioned it to us, we looked at them & ended up ordering 2! Lol! First, and my absolute favorite, were the sweet honey biscuits. OMG!! They were absolutely the most delicious biscuits I have ever had in my life! They were soft, fluffy & tender. Not rubbery or hard & crusty. They were a nice size with a good height to them. The only way to really describe them is pillows from heaven with a perfect touch of sweetness! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID & only order a 3 count!! Get the order of 5 or multiples of 5 & take some home because I am still thinking about them 4 days later! What a great bacon, egg & biscuit sandwich that would make the next morning!
We also got the loaded tater skins with smoked gouda & bacon. They were simply delicious! A winner for sure!
For our meals, my hubby got a half rack of ribs & the mac & cheese for a side. His ribs were very meaty & cooked perfectly. They were juicy & tender and you could certainly notice the beautiful smoke. They were flavored nicely. He ate half without sauce because they did not need it. The other half he did because he wanted to try the different sauces. They have 3 different bbq sauces which were all perfect! The original is almost what you would expect, only better. Smoky, sweet, tangy & definitely not from a bottle. The peach bbq sauce is so unique & unexpected but is executed perfectly. Sweet with a little spice. The spicy sauce is equally as good with a nice spicy heat but not too much. Each one complimented our meat perfectly in a different way. We could not choose a favorite & were constantly dipping in the 3.
His side was smoked gouda mac & cheese. You could definitely tell it was homemade & he certainly enjoyed it. The noodles had a nice texture & the cheese sauce had a good consistency & flavor. The only thing he did not like was the bread crumbs on top but that is a personal preference & not a deal-breaker.
I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of the apple cider coleslaw. My sandwich was piled high with delicious & juicy pulled pork. You could see the bits of smoke ring throughout the meat & you can definitely taste it. I didn't know if I would be able to finish the sandwich but the more I ate the more I decided I was not stopping! It had to go in my belly!
My coleslaw was so unique & flavorful. It had little peppadew peppers in it & I just kept going back for more. The crunch! The tang! Yum! It was a generous portion served in a jar & I thought there is no way I'm going to eat all this either & I absolutely did! It was just so good!
We didn't have room for dessert but left with our bellies full & happy & a definite agreement that we will be back soon. The place was clean. The food was high quality & delicious. The people were top notch. Overall it was just a fabulous dinner & will be a place we visit a few times a month.
We weren't drinking that night but we're happy to see that they had one of our faves-Weihenstephaner Hefe Weiss. Not a common offering but we will be planning on...

Inside, the rustic charm continues with original hardwood floors, checkered tablecloths, and a cozy, Southern vibe that makes you feel like you’re dining in someone’s historic home. The green walls, vintage decor, fireplace, and colorful rug add a warm and inviting character. Soft Elvis Presley music playing throughout our meal added a perfect touch of Southern nostalgia.

Service – 5/5: Our server Jacqueline was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and attentive from start to finish. I originally planned to get pulled pork, but she highly recommended their specialty: the ribs. I took her advice and was so glad I did. She also suggested a side of sweet pickle potato salad, which ended up being a unique and delicious surprise.

Food – 5/5: We started off with the sweet honey biscuits appetizer. Three warm, moist, and flaky biscuits served with a honey butter spread—they were phenomenal and the perfect start to the meal.
For the main course, I ordered a combo of ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned, and didn’t even need sauce—but they had three options at the table: • Texas BBQ Sauce (my favorite – smoky and bold) • Carolina Hog Sauce (vinegar-based) • Savannah Peach BBQ Sauce (sweet and tangy)
The pulled pork was also very good, especially when topped with their Texas-style sauce.
We also got the farm fresh chopped salad with blackened chicken, and let me tell you—the chicken was incredibly flavorful. Honestly, next time I go, I’m planning to order a platter with both the Texas ribs and the blackened chicken—that would be the ultimate combo!

Final Thoughts: Pig & Fire is everything you want in a Southern BBQ experience—charming atmosphere, amazing food, and standout service. Jacqueline’s recommendations made the visit even better. I can’t wait to return and try more from the menu. Highly recommend. 5/5 stars...
Read moreI’m not a frequent reviewer writer, but this business impressed the heck out of me. They’ve been a solid choice of mine for several years now with consistently great ribs, slaw, and mac (my go to order). They also have some great sauces, including their “hog sauce”. I think it’s apple cider vinegar based, but whatever it is, it’s fantastic. Anyway, ordered my usual tonight and requested several sides of hog sauce. Drove 20 min each way to pick up order and upon unpacking the order at home, I notice the hog sauces are missing. This being BBQ, the sauces are kinda important and I’m dreading having to possibly drive back there. I called the store, and I was expecting a disappointing conversation where I was offered something like a $5 credit off my next meal and the “opportunity” to come pick up the missing sauces. However, the call was accepted graciously, and without hesitation, they offer to bring the sauces to my house! In this age of DoorDash and what not, this may not seem like a huge deal. However, this was a Friday night, near closing time, and a 20 minute drive. Kudos to this business for knowing their customer and recognizing that something as trivial as some sauce cups can make or break the customer experience. This is a business that cares and because of my experience tonight, they have gained an even more loyal customer, more word of mouth advertising, and this review. If a business is doing the “small stuff” right, like this, then one can assume the rest of the operation is top notch. Hope this doesn’t sound too over the top, but I’m just impressed with my experience. Thanks Pig and Fire and keep up the great product and...
