Lo-re-Lei Pub & Grill. — Restaurant in North Topsail Beach

This is the worst food I have ever had in my life and I worked at a Waffle House for 2.5 years. I wish we had gone there because the food, food safety, and service would have been better by far. Do not eat here - ever. If you are starving to death just keep going. You’ll thank me. Seriously, this is the absolute worst meal I have ever had in my life and I waited over an hour for it at 6pm when there were empty tables. It wasn’t edible and we left most of our food on our plates. I won’t be surprised if I get food poisoning. I order raw oysters and I literally got half a can of room temperature oysters dumped on a plate - no ice, no shells. They claimed to have local seafood and only serve oysters in season but these were obviously previously frozen. Several items we ordered didn’t come but we didn’t bother to ask for them and were instead grateful to be spared. My son ordered fried flounder and that wasn’t even done right. Mostly greasy and tasted frozen and old. Servers were nice but not good at their jobs. Hush puppies were terrible. The fries others have raved about were not good. Nachos had canned jalapeños on them, nacho cheese, and unmelted shredded cheese. They were supposed to have beef but instead had something that looked like chicken. They were mediocre at best if I’m being generous but sadly the highlight of the meal. Bar was poorly stocked. This is obviously just a place to get trashed on strong, cheap drinks so don’t expect anything more. We had read reviews saying the food was good but even the burger was disappointing. I wish we had gotten deli takeout from the food lion across the street. At least then half our party would not have had an upset stomach...

We were visiting Sneads Ferry, NC for a few days, and one morning looking for a breakfast place. To my amazement this place popped up Sunday morning on a google search, it had a 4.4 star review, we all agreed to give it a go since it had a pretty good rating, and was nearby. We ordered biscuits, gravy, sausage links bacon, eggs, and one breakfast wrap, and french toast. I gotta say when I walked into the place, two pool tables greeted me, a concrete floor then a bar with a few tables. I was a little taken aback. What have I done. I looked around, and the place was full, the bar, and surrounding tables. So we walked to the end of the bar where the waitresses would pick up drink orders, and told what would be the bartender we have a breakfast order.They said ok, whats the name. They gave us our order to go as requested, we were given everything we ordered, we went back to the airbnb, and passed out the food orders. It was great! Everything that was ordered was all correct and flavorful, We had some of the biggest, fluffest, moist and best biscuits we have ever tried.The portion size was plentiful, evan the condiments needed were well thought out for each order. We had eaten at a couple other breakfast spots they were good, but this place was great! and very reasonably priced. We had planned to eat there again, but unfortunately for us they only serve breakfast Saturday, and Sunday. We feel maybe they should reconsider their breakfast hours! 5 stars for this...

The cups they give you are Togo cups, so the waitress would run her but off trying to see if people needed refills due to not being able to see from a distance if any were needed. They were styrofoam, so couldn't see through them. We ordered the crab cake balls for an appetizer, they were super bland and the sauce it came with was what made it palatable. I ordered the shrimp and fries. Shrimp was basic shrimp, which is ok, but the fries were soaked in grease and very soggy!! My fiance ordered the big mouth burger and said it was ok. The waitress was pretty pushy on wanting us to hurry and order, like the place was packed, it wasn't. So I just picked the one thing I could find in the 2 minutes she gave us. For the price, go somewhere else!!!! The pictures are of the appetizer and suppers. The shrimp and fries were 14.99! That's what 14.99 looks like?!..jeez, disappointed.

Ok, I did go back with a friend. Talked to the blonde chic behind the bar. After speaking with her for some time, I've realized I jumped the gun on the review. She was great, and I'd go back for her. The other staff that night was friendly and polite. This place may be known for drinks, but honestly I'd drink here before...
