I really wished this Sushi place was going to work for me, as its a pain to drive into Jacksonville or down to Hampstead for a sit down Sushi restaurant.
Unfortunately, I won't be going back.
It started off waiting for several minutes at the door as the hostess was nowhere to be found. I went in to get a table as my wife and mother in-law were getting the kids out of the car. An Asian family got in between me and my family in line, which wasn't a issue, as we were all in the building by the time the hostess showed up. She initially said it would be 15 minutes, but then glanced around the corner behind her to see an empty table, and she said right this way. The gentlemen behind me almost cut me off as I started to walk, which the hostess never even had a verbal interaction with him. My family did end up sitting down. We sat there for 20 minutes and not a single person stopped by to interact with us. In the mean time, I look over to see the family behind me and they already had drinks, and their order was being taken. To say I felt taken aback is an understatement. I then went back up to the front counter to ask what the issue was. There were once again people sitting at the door not being tended to. I once again sat there for several minutes and at this point I was fuming. It was only at the point where I started to step behind the counter when I was intercepted. Is that what it takes to get service at this establishment? By this time I was done. If I was met at the front counter in a timely manner, I could have been persuaded to stick around. She did apologize, but between the disrespect and the light racial undertones I was getting, I have no interest in ever giving this establish my patronage in the future.
If you do end up going here, I hope you get better service that I received, because I have never felt this alienated in a restaurant in my life.
Also, the parking lot struggles to accommodate the parking needs for the business park, and that was on a Tuesday evening. I could only imagine the nightmare it would be on the weekend when it...
Read moreI don’t know what was worse, the food or the service. I initially came in and scanned the LARGE QR code labeled “takeout” that sits right where the hostess stands. The hostess watched me walk in and said nothing to me, then watched me scan this QR code for takeout and still said nothing as I wasted 30 minutes of my time trying to put in an order online. I approached her and mentioned the website wasn’t letting the order go through and she tells me that they don’t have takeout available at the moment due to them just opening up. So my question in my mind is why would you have the QR code and sign up for “takeout” AND say nothing as you watched me scan the code on my phone?
I then left and came back with my husband an hour later. When I walked in the hostess was smiling and talking with another worker but quickly stopped smiling when she seen I was back. As I approached the hostess desk her exact words were “oh…you’re back.” with a dull look on her face. i smiled and said “yes” and an awkward silence followed as she just looked at me. She breaks the silence with “so you’re dinning or….?” I looked at her confused because what other option was there? That was a given, but I said “yes”.
Fast forward, we are seated, we put in our order of two ramen bowls and one sushi roll. We didn’t get our food for another 1hr 45minutes!!!! No exaggeration. I may even be giving them a little grace on timing. They were at about half capacity at the time, so the wait didn’t make sense, but thought it would be worth it. No one came to us in our 1hr 45minutes of waiting and said ANYTHING. We were only told they were “behind on orders” once we were brought our food. The food had little to no flavor. Very dissatisfying and flavorless. I added salt and pepper to get myself to eat it.
Overall, horrible experience. I blame myself for even being seated after that UNwelcoming entrance we received.
That was our experience. Go at your own risk.
Needless to say, we will...
Read moreI seriously cannot believe how this place is still open. Going out to dinner is a treat for anyone, you're paying for a service and experience. However Hokkaido in Sneads ferry is by far the WORST place I've ever been to. For those who have never been I can already predict your outcome of coming here. Youll be seated and be greeted with water and then be on a scavenger hunt to find your waiter. About 20 mins later you finally be able to place your order just for it to not all come out at once so about half of your party will be done eating by the time the rest get their food. Not to mention that you'll order most likely will be wrong but you don't wanna send it back for them to take another 20 mins to fix it and your party is all ready to leave. Also you'll be having to hunt down your server for the bill or you'll be waiting there for yet again another 20 mins. So the outcome if you go here is you'll be expecting a nice evening but end up leaving pissed off. Today I tried giving them yet another chance which shame on me bc that's my experience EVERYTIME. I was with two other people and we waited what seemed like forever to get our order taken and when we finally got our food I didn't get mine and when I did everyone was almost done eating. To make up for this "accident" they did give us a free dessert. But I've been there enough time to notice that they give out free dessert like candy for having people wait so long. It's the same outcome so 10/10 recommend if you wanna have a bad experience and 10/10 recommend if you wanna test your patience. This might sound harsh but I've waited on tables for years and could NEVER imagine this happening to a table of mine let alone any business...
