I placed an order on the phone at 11am for Superbowl Sunday and asked can I pick the order up later at 4pm. The young lady that took my order said yes but you have to pay by card now. I said ok and placed my order. So my sun goes to pick up order at 4pm no food was ready, young lady told him 15 minutes. So at 435 20 mins after the given time for the second time they give him the wrong order. So now me and my wife goes there and explain what happened a young man comes up and says he made my order and it was giving out already. I inform him and the cashier that it was the wrong order n handed them the bag. Cashier states later that I have no order in their system, smh so I had to show them the money that was taken outta my account when placing the order. Which after that they magically found the receipt for my order. So after threatening for a refund I finally get my food at 515pm. It was a terrible first experience, an hour and 15min wait for a pre order that was placed hours ahead of time, so I finally get home to taste the food and it was honestly ok. You can tell it was rushed but it was a decent sandwich. I'm willing to try again one day because one cashier I think her name was Desiree she needs a raise she wasn't the original cashier I dealt with but she came in and did her best to fix the issue. Overall not a good experience
UPDATE So the owner of jodi's reached out to us and as you can see from her comment below. I agreed to come to the restaurant after she offered to mend the customer to owner relationship that was fractured from my first experience there this past weekend. She offered to remake my complete order at no charge to us. Once getting to the restaurant Ms Jodi was very apologetic and assured me that my first experience with them was not normal. Ms Jodi was very very nice and you can tell she loves her business. Once I got my food home and took one bite of the philly cheese steak n the chicken Philly I was in meaty greasy heaven lol. And the turkey hoagie was packed with meat and flavor.Their food is amazing it was totally night n day from the last visit. Bread meat cheese was all great she has hooked me lol we will definitely go here again, again n again in the near future.. if you are in the Hammond Indiana area please go visit jodi's and tell them tank from the chosen legacies podcast sent you.. Thanks again Ms Jodi...
Read moreI am really disappointed in the sandwiches I purchased from Jodi's today. Me and my sister drove an hour to get Jodi's sandwiches and Italian ice. Us being on our Phat girl Friday, sisterly love time together was excited to get Jodi's. BTW, she lives in Wisconsin. So to make this trip, thinking I'm gonna devour this sandwich, to find out that my chicken philly was burnt, dried out, and was on a hard greasy bread (these past 3 visits were a blank mission!) During this visit, we purchased 3 sandwiches and an Italian ice. All 3 sandwiches had chicken pieces that were burnt and dried out. The burnt pieces were all on the bread side, like someone was trying to cover it up. I've been going to Jodi's since 2018, never experienced anything like this. We spent over $50 to purchase food that we thought was going to be good and delicious. I cut a piece from my sandwich, thinking I could still eat it, it will not be too bad because I had mayo, mustard and peppers but the chunks of chicken were dried out and had a burnt taste. The condiments did not save my sandwich. It was displeasing to taste. I gave up on eating my sandwich...my sister on the other hand, stated, "I spent too much money on my sandwich not to eat it, and we are not driving an hour back." I guess my stomach is not built like hers. So, Jodi is off my list for food items. I'm still down for the Italian ice. That's the only reason I gave Jodi 1 star. I'm not going out of my way, I'm afraid to be disappointed again. Their food is usually on point, therego the reason I didn't open up the sandwiches and check our food. I'm not in the habit of checking my food before I leave the restaurant because I trust the companies I frequently visit. Jodi's Italian Ice dropped the ball on this one. Why would they serve this food anyway. I'm really mad at myself, I should have checked my food before I left, especially when I drove so far to get it, knowing their food policy, plus they had a crowd (that doesn't give them the right to serve burnt, over cooked and dried chicken.) I really did not want to leave this review, but I work too hard for the money I earn, just to waste it. This review will make up for the other 2 times that I didn't leave a review. This 3rd time, I really had to leave it. Very very...
Read moreAlthough the price is a bit steep for a Hogie the quality of all the ingredients used is worth the cost. Unlike other competitors who use a much cheaper brand and also cost less but you get what you pay for; Nothing cheap about the taste of their Turkey Hogie sandwich; everything is fresh so don't judge this place by how it looks outside; then I tried the lemon Italian ice this was not like Marios on Taylor street in Chicago but this was the best one I've had in the state of Indiana but back to the Hogie; simply put they have the best tasting Turkey Hogie period but for real Turkey, lovers add extra meat it's a bit pricey for a Hogie sandwich, but when something tastes this good its worth it. I came back a 2nd time and tried out the Philadelphia Cheesesteak and on the scale of 1 to 10 I have to give them a 10 I can't believe that such good food and service can come out of a small place like this; This is a must go to and eat if you're going to going to the big name sandwich and submarine places Jodi's Italian Ice would be my first choice and if anyone has read any of my reviews you know that I tell it like it is! Give them a try, and I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed at all. Also, the parking lot is just ok and there is no place to eat inside so everything is to go. Bon...
