Went to Red lobster in Munster for lunch. Seated in bar area, not crowded and not busy. Waited 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. Once acknowledged we placed drink/appetizer/lunch order because if after 10 minutes of not being acknowledged let’s just order everything all at once. Server Mick, then brought us water, understandable that we would have to wait for the alcohol to be made. That wasn’t the problem, our server seemed to now be busy with his 3 other tables of 2 guests as well so I ask the wide body manager if she could please grab the biscuits for our server because he is busy with other tables, she wouldn’t grab the biscuits because according to her our sever was just now putting in our order & will be bringing the biscuits. Has anyone else waited 20+ minutes for the biscuits? I thought that was they 1st item they bring to your table?? After 25 minutes we have now received the biscuits & appetizer. That would be our entree for this trip to red lobster. Our waiter complete forgot about us. Our drinks ran dry within 10 minutes & I even ordered the huge raspberry lobstarita, but no Mick nor his team members thought to check on our food or inform us if they had been any mishaps going on in the kitchen. We waited 40 minutes just for drinks, a shrimp cocktail, & 4 biscuits. The server Mick went on to take more orders from customers, continued to cash customers out, & not one single I’m sorry for the wait can I get you anything else or let me see what’s going on with your food order happened. We decided to leave, this is when the manager decided it would be a great time to check on our food. I said wide body we been sitting there dehydrated from the damn biscuits for the longest & now you think after 40 minutes of waiting to finally check on our food. We only paid for the liquor, the manager was so active at this time & she decided to take off the appetizer, if only she could have been active when we needed her to be. The service was not up to par, I couldn’t believe it. We frequent the Merrillville location often & NEVER have issues. I believe a training day on customer service & teamwork could benefit this location, but I’m not sure they may be going out of business because I didn’t see any lobsters...
Read moreThis visit to Red Lobster is probably my last. This restaurant was run down. Everything looked beat up. The handicap stall in the bathroom had no lock or handle and a big hole in the door where they should have been a lock. We arrived at 6:30 PM it wasn’t busy at 8 pm she said they overcooked your steak that’s the hold up it will be out shortly. I looked at my daughter and said I don’t think I’ve ever had my food take an hour and a half anywhere. We were polite and just kept visiting with each other because I am aware the waitstaff doesn’t cook the food. When our food came my daughter said her crab legs were delicious. My steak was undercooked but I didn’t dare send it away. When I was eating it it tasted like it had been left in the refrigerator uncovered for a while. It’s hard to describe I don’t know the exact definition but it tasted like when ice is old and absorbs all the stuff around it. I ate about 3/4 and gave up. I tipped over 20% still even though when I ordered a coke it tasted off too so I asked for a root beer instead. She happily replaced it but left the nasty coke on the table for 3 hours. We were sitting close to the wait station so we happened to hear at least 3 other similar experiences going on at other tables. The manager never stopped to acknowledge what was happening or offer any explanation and/or apology. These days when a meal for two is upwards of a 100$ I can’t stomach that being the experience. It makes me sad to write this. Unfortunately we...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and I was somewhat disappointed when they set us down the first thing they gave us a list of all the things they were out of one of the family members say I tell you what tell us what you do have because sitting here listening to what you don't have is very discouraging.
The food was okay it wasn't as good as it was when I have been in the past. We went here to celebrate my brother 70th birthday because he had never been to Red lobster before and I suggested the one in Munster Indiana rather than the one closest to my home in Oak Lawn because I've always had great service and great food at this location . But this time I was a very disappointed yes the prices had definitely increase which I understand however the food quality and quantity have decreased and that I don't understand
I guess poor management was the reason they were out of so many things so we was forced to order stuff that we really hadn't came there to get because they was out of things. The reason they indicator for the shortage is because of the new menu item the boil that had started the prior Monday which I felt they saw how things was going through in the week that they definitely should of known they needed to order more for the weekend. I was so disappointed again I think it's poor management the waitress was doing the best she could but she couldn't give you what they...
