San Luis — Restaurant in North Township

I ate here today for the first time, I ordered a 2 (steak)Tostada dinner w/ rice and beans and a strawberry licuado. I love the presentation and flavor of the Licuado as it came in a large margarita glass with whipped cream and ribbons of strawberry flavored sauce and strawberry pieces it was cold creamy and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS !!! 🍨 the tostadas were crispy, fresh and the steak was cut nicely ( I could tell it was actually steak) very flavorful too, honestly the rice and beans were average. I enjoyed the salsa that was served with chips as it was flavorful, tasty and had chunks of onion and tomatoes and cilantro pieces throughout with a spicy kick, I wasn't as impressed with the salsa verde as it had an off taste to me. The reason I gave only 4 stars was because 3 items I asked for were unavailable but still on the menu. I just chopped it up to changes due to COVID-19. No horchata, only strawberry liquados no banana or chocomilk , and I was highly disappointed that they dont offer the more authentic mexican nachos with the melted white queso cheese instead of the cheddar cheese sauce . I had heard great thing about this place and was so excited to give it a try. When my girlfriend and I got there, we had to stand by the register to find any employee to sit us. When the girl finally came out, we were greeted with a cold almost annoyed character. She sat us towards the front of the restaurant that had all the lights off and looked closed off and never said a word to us. We waited for at least 15 minutes until someone came back to see us and was handed cold stale chips. The girl left the chips and walked off again, having never asked what we wanted to drink. Another 10 minutes passed and we had enough. We got up and left. All these fantastic reviews seem to far fetched considered the service we received was horrible at best. The fajitas looked & smelled great. They came out sizzling. Other than that nothing special about the food that I experienced. In all fairness I’m somewhat of a foodie so unless The food blows me away it’s just “meh” this the 3 stars. Nothing bad to report. It’s just that I’ve been to many many authentic Mexican restaurants my entire life as well as multiple trips to Mexico so I’m not blowing smoke. The young man server was very helpful & polite.
