The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in North Township

I’d give zero stars if I could. I went in prior to Christmas to purchase $500 worth of gift cards and a very helpful young lady started to help me until she got stuck at one part in the computer and had to ask an older woman for assistance. The older woman went on and on about how the owner does not like to do this during the day as it holds up other people trying to purchase items. Mind you, the store was empty when we started and a woman walked in and ordered a sandwich during my encounter with the second lady “helping” me. The employee made such a big deal and made me feel so inconsiderate that I apologized to the woman behind me who assured me that my transaction was not holding her up any more than someone in front of her ordering a sandwich. I frequently purchase lunches and gift cards for a local non for profit organization that I work for so afterwards I reached out to the store via their website to express my concerns and hopefully discuss a better way to provide them my business and I never received a response. Myself and my organization will no longer be utilizing Honey Baked Ham Highland or Merrillville due to the extreme customer...

I will be contacting BBB. ORG on this company today. I am not sure what happened to this place but it has changed since my last visit in 2011 and I will never go back. Long story short on 02/14/24 I paid $41.70 for 3 sandwich boxes for my family. I was told my card declined so I checked my balance and showed them the transaction hit my account. They literally told me they could not cancel the transaction and kept the food. They never reached out to their merchant over the phone in front of me. They went in the back and returned just to tell me sorry come back if the pymt stays on the account. Chase bank was down the street so I went to them. They saw the transaction and filed a claim for me. 2 days later and I am still waiting for it to stop pending so it can be reversed. I honestly wish I never walked in that store. The menus on the walls are all gone. The staff was not friendly but more agitated that I arrived at closing time for them (3:45 on Valentine day). We got packed sandwiches from here, and my hubby loved the turkey sandwich. My only vegetarian option was roasted tomato and cheddar. I wouldn't really have that again, but I wish they had more vegetarian options. The sandwich was ok with some crispy stuff but you would figure out that it was cooked together with some meat or used the same oil. They also had a different chips bags which seemed like it was from an environment friendly company. The box also had a pickle, a cookie and a drink. Some boxes had a straw, some didn't.
